After 2.5 years, 50,000 miles & with tears in my eyes my 2007 Z4 3.0i Coupe has to go back to BMW Finance in about 4 weeks
. I am so gonna miss it & I WILL get another one when funds allow ..... BUT I have a worry : I've replaced the horrid run flats with normal tyres so when the inspector calls round to assess my car before being handed back to BMW will he charge for new run flats? The normal tyres on at the moment have loads of life left in them, I'm hoping he just checks the treads & doesn't notice. Hoping he's checked out so many Beemers & MINI's he doesn't realise it came with run flats. I'm looking at about a grand otherwise which I just cannot afford.
I've rung a friendly BMW dealer who said off the recoed it COULD be worth risking, but he really couldn't say.
So does anyone know? Anyone else had same experience?
Many thanks!
PS - the one big lesson I've learnt owning the Z4 is to ring around lots of BMW dealers when it comes to Servicing. Their prices vary hugely & many match or better a lower price than you've had so far. I've saved a fortune over the years doing this
