Z4 G29 Delivery Delays

If you get nowhere, cancel the order and buy an ex demo. There are plenty out there most likely with the spec you want without all the hassle.

Will save you a few quid too. I would never ever buy new.

There aren’t many about and frankly the savings on an ex demo aren’t great.

So what would be fair compensation? (A Cayman? :P)

This is awful. If it makes you feel any better, my mate at Porsche says similar things are happening With delays and wrong spec cars.

Monday is going to be a very interesting day. I’ve got a plan.

Just been reading all the problems you’ve been having. Really is awful.

Speak to bmw U.K. you have to. They can give you a big deposit contribution to the car and the dealer can also contribute more to the replacement car.
From past experience, between bmw U.K, finance and the dealership they can knock off around 20k from the price.

Keep is posted and good luck.

Indeed - there's been a price increase since I ordered... which means there are no savings on ex demo. And that's if I can find one in the spec I want. I ordered because I wanted what I wanted.

But I would be able flip a wrong spec Porsche with a super tidy profit.

That’s the whole problem, you knew what you wanted and quite rightly so want too stick to that.

Exact same reason we ordered a new one. Discount minimal and no pre-reg available in the spec we wanted (all boxes ticked)

Hopefully today will prove a bit more fruitful

That’s why we order a new car…..so we get exactly what we want.

You will have a lengthy wait too. Massive delays at Porsche too.

Cars arriving without electric seats and steering adjustments.

Maybe you could flip it, but then you would order a new one of your spec and still have to wait over a year with again the risk of wrong spec.

There are 25 new M4.0i cars on the BMW new car locator only ones with red interior is a black one at Peterborough and a frozen grey at Redhill.

I had the same issue kept being told by the dealer that would be May, June and July for delivery.

In the end I cancelled my order and purchased a brand new physical M4.0i car from another dealer, with all of the 4 packs that I required.

Forgot to add it was at the pre price increase and also £1,000 discount, dealer did state that there would be no more available new Z4 cars until 2023.

there are a couple of brand new white Z4 M40i on Autotrader - no red interior though but worth a look.
There is a well specced M20 sport on the BMW own site but it's Misano Blue. It depends how keen you are on white. Guess I was lucky with finding mine within half an hour of searching. Defo worth keep checking though. Good luck

I was very lucky finding mine in SFR red with all the packs I wanted. The only thing I would have changed if ordering new was black leather rather than Ivory, as much as I loved/love the Ivory my worry was keeping it clean.
A year and 13,000 miles daily driving later it's as fresh and clean as the day I got it.

Russ

Spoke with the dealer on the 2nd July to confirm that there was actually a physical car in place and not just a promise of an order, went down to see it on the same day, delivered on flat bed on the 8th July all sorted.

Hope that you get yours sorted soon.

Same! Although I do feel the whole thing is going to be nothing but a sour taste in my mouth.

Hope you are enjoying your new car!

Getting closer. Let’s see if tomorrow brings any different (good) news instead of the standard misery.

(Assuming I get a call, that is)
