Bought my Z4 this week and went to Chris Knott at the weekend for insurance. They matched the best price I could get elsewhere (£400) and also sorted multicar cover for my other car at as good a quote as anyone else.
Very effecient and friendly.
I agree on the previous post about the wait though, I was on 25mins holding- glad I hung on tho.

I'll have only had the car 5 months and I don't think a 1.4TDI Polo as a previous car would count as a performance car :roll:

Sorry, afraid not (on both counts). Just that the claims history is not good unless there is a year's ownership of a similar car.

My insurance is due next month and I have only had my car just over a month. My previous car was a Saab 93 2.0t Cabrio so am I still ruled out with the 12 month performance car or do I qualify with the Saab?

Sorry, got locked out there for a while. All sorted now. It's probably too late for you 123BillyB for this year but no your Saab experience wouldn't be enough. You'd need similar experience of RWD.

CKI - a question for you. I have just bought a sDrive 2.3 auto. My previous car was a 170bhp 3 series which I had for three years. Is that enough to count as performance car experience?

If you live in any of the above postcodes you'll know that it used to be difficult for us to quote you under the club insurance scheme.
The good news is that insurers have agreed to open up these postcodes to us.
Some of the very risky areas are still not available to us (in reality there aren't many of those) but we can quote competitively on the rest. There are sometimes overnight parking requirements attached to the quotes but this is a big step forward in the right direction.
Regardless of your postcode area, if you've not yet given the Chris Knott Insurance club scheme a try please do so or if you have tried us in the past and we couldn't help you - chances are that we'll be able to help now.

Then I waited 2 minutes whilst she got me the price, when she came back on I was expecting "sorry, but...", but no, was pleasantly surprised to hear "we can do it for £240".
