Z4-Forum INSURANCE scheme with CHRIS KNOTT :: 0800 917 2274

Thanks to all who have rung us for a quote.

We have just calculated the figures for 2009 and they show that the average recorded saving we made for our new customers last year was 12.5% off their BEST quote so it's certainly worth a call!

We consistently average over 80% renewal retention as well (December was 84%!) so people are happy at renewal as well!

0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 until 1/3/10 then 01424 200477.

I'm insured with you guys, and not impressed with the renewal letter you've sent me. The price has dropped... wait for it... nothing. (I have 5 yrs no claims and am 26)

I've done a few quick quotes with other insurers and they're consistently well well over 200 pounds cheaper than you.

I will not be renewing.

ps: If you come back with ("our renewals aren't our most competitive price, but we will have another look at it for you...") it just shows you're like all the rest, that will try to get higher premiums UNLESS the customer complains and searches around.

Your retention in Feb will be going down as far as I'm concerned.

And because your phone system is constantly saying busy during your 'open' hours, you didn't even get chance to try to compete.

Swift has come through with over 300 cheaper than your renewal.

Nice.

Sorry, our phones were down whilst we did an office move to new larger premises on Friday afternoon & Saturday.

(I doubt, reading about them on other forums, their policy is on a like for like basis with ours. I would recommend you view feedback about any company you are to insure with. We are happy to compete on like for like products if you wish)

Just insured myself with Chris Knott. Came in a fiver under my best quote, so I expect a bit of 'tweaking' behind the scenes. But cheaper is cheaper, and if the customer service is good then thats what matters. Smaller excess too.

Just had a quote off them, cheapest by a fair margin, £430 FC. beat all other excess's and offer a good level of comprehensive cover.

Good customer service too, although I was a bit surprised when asked is an MR2 Turbo rear wheel drive...

And, although this may not be perfect for everyone - the missus isn't allowed to be insured on it! YES!! *ahem.

That's fine. And it's just CH41-66 postcodes which should have the car off road overnight, and for you to be a homeowner.

Hello,

Is there any flexibilty on the Z4M restriction?

I am buying one on Tuesday, i'm 26 and owned a Honda S2000 for four years (also ins group 20), 7 years NCB and 8 years in May.

Postcode IG7 - Chigwell. Mileage will be less then 5000 p/a as it only a weekend car.

The car will be locked in a secure garage at a gated property with security cameras and alarm on a very quiet residential close.

I think that's everything!

Please PM me if you can help, thanks. :)

Hi
I'm afraid not. The M models don't have a good track record with the insurers and vehicles in that category are not performing well now either.
Sorry.

Hi tim,
I tried to get a quote for renewing my insurance today and found that chris knott dont insure M cars anymore. Unfortunatley i lapsed my insurance over 14days. I find it a joke. Can you please update your details on the forum so people dont waste their time trying to get a quote which takes baout 30mins. cheers

chet

They never did M ... however, making a clear note would be helpful.

It says in the very first post that M cars are excluded...

Doesnt Mention M cars are excluded. It says you need atleast one years NCD with those cars to be insured. if you read correctly it says M, L postcodes not cars.

"...and the Z4 M Series."

But yes, would be useful if they could change the title of the thread or something to make it more obvious. But when calling I never understand why companies don't eliminate the car question first!

EDIT: Just reminded me of the scene in Top Gear why Clarkson tries to get a quote for the Veyron.
