It as originally the 1200 Mirage...

I put 7c cams instead if the 4c, big comp pistons, Phil Todd ported the head, with 36mm bored out carbs, hydraulic operated clutch and pro racer 3 into 1 exhaust..

It was quick in its day ..ate Z900s and Z1300s for breakfast..

Sadly sold it to a friend who ran it into the ground..it was no 7 of 21 bikes...

I love classic Laverda's and bikes generally. We have a similar taste in the colour of our cars as well :D :D

It went down hill with yellow after the Fiat 126..
The last Laverda pic is a cool looking bike. It has a Spondon look about it.

Back to the topic

The "Individual" moniker is a bit misleading as the Orange one is a Design Pure Traction limited edition with a black roof, orange door cards and trim and different seats in leather and alcantara.
I know as I'm hoping to get one on Saturday and a spent ages trying to track down the spec. Mine has silver alloys which I think look okay but I'm quite taken with those black ones.
Christ, the farkling has begun and I haven't even got the car yet!

Well to confuse you further, mine is a Design Pure Traction limited edition (allegedly), with orange door cards and trim, different seats in leather and alcantara (or something similar) and an ORANGE roof. :)

I think that Design Pure Traction only refers to the interior trim and have to agree nothing to do with BMW Individual which I don't think was actually available on the E89 Z4. At least I have not come across any.

Not sure about that - the one I'm looking at has a plaque on the door sill saying "Individual" and it has the orange trim and different seats.

The pure traction cars had the orange trim & black seats with orange detailing, the individual range as offered historically didn’t limit customers to just one trim option, as I mentioned earlier it opened up a range of colours not normally available for the model.
Seems a bit of a cop out to give the choice of a black roof & to call it an “individual” spec :?

Living your Doohan fantasies 'eh  ? Nictrix thought the Lav could be Spondon framed (remember Bill Hunter) and my first thought was Harris. Not sure it's either but I applaud your good taste

I can't understand the black roof, trying to make it look like a soft top.
Worse it could look like my vinyl roof on my TR7 and to top it, it had a glass mirror sunroof!

The Drophead was much prettier with a much bigger sunroof..
AAAH memories, I had 3 TR7 rag tops including one in frog green and one with a blue bodykit. I then had the opportunity to own an original 3500 V8, I loved that car but sold it when I married.....

I had 4 TR7 drop-heads and 1 TR8 drop-head that was part of the pre UK launch program that never was....I worked for the computer division of BL from 1980-1985 ...they were great cars..the all time handling mod was either one or two 2 by 2 paving slab in the boot  :driving:
