Well,
After a good few months of umming and arring about a Z4, my insurance renewal is now due in early may. My current company will not insure me on a Z4, so hence I have had to wait until the year runs out so i can look elsewhere.
The problem is, I think my dream of owning one of these lovely cars is over.... A few months back I was getting insurance quotes for £1500 which is silly, but then Admiral came in with a quote of £900, still alot but not that bad considering the rest! unfortunately there was some sort of error and now whenever I enter my postcode in to Admiral they say they cannot provide a quote.
I treid putting a multicar quote in, with the Z4 and a little Yaris as the run around, however whilst the qoute came through it simply said £XXX which i guess means its some silly amount and I have to call them to find out.
Today I went on money supermarket and confused.com, the best quote i could get was £2500!!!! its gone up over the past few months.
I am trying to understand why my premium should be so high. I am a 25 year old male, I live in a desirable country location, I have a full time job, have been driving for 8 years. The only black mark is one insurance claim last year which was flood damage, however this was on my parents policy not my own, so dont know if it counts.
I only made the move to my own policy last year (due to university etc) and hence I only have 1 years NCB.
But still £2500 seems ridiculous, is it the time of the year or something???
Any advice appreciated!
