Z4 Charity Run (Map Added)

Ok so Alan (Number5) and I have come up with the idea of doing a charity Z4 thread . The idea is to get Alan's mansize bear (Zedward) all around the UK between the Forum members. Pictures of him in members cars and in different locations/landmarks can then be posted on a specific thread as we follow his journey !

A small donation via a "Just Giving" page could raise a few quid for a needy cause. We can then decide where the raised money should go. This could be a great way of meeting and breaking the ice with other forum members who live near you, initially at handover, but going forward too.

Initially we need to know if ithis is of interest to be people and if we have enough people to support it and get Zedward round the UK (and back home). I will add names and location to the list and then we can decide if the idea is feasible, before Number5 kisses him goodbye !

So, who's up for a laugh, willing to give Zedward the Summer of a lifetime and also a couple of quid to a worthy cause ?
PS. Also has anyone got a particular charity to suggest or know of any one desperately needing funds for a lifechanging operation etc

Please add yourself to the map, this way we can get an idea of who is where on the route, we should have a clockwise route around the UK

I will give Zedward a lift in any direction from Oxford. In a 100 mile radius.

Loving this idea.

Charity wise how's about a children's charity.

I would need assurances that Zedward is house-trained, doesn't nag and doesn't interfere with innovative navigational decisions. Count me in for a south-east leg of his adventure!

Yep, I think it would be nicer to give to an individual in desperate need rather than a big national charity.
I also think a guide of 10p per mile would be good, but people are welcome to chuck in more if they wish too.

God only knows what state he'll come back in, but as long as he enjoys himself and makes other people happy, its all for a good cause !

He doesn't expect lunch, interfere with your choice of music, or sing through your favourite song.
He does however have a wandering right arm sometimes. :?

And as for being house trained... "Do bears.....in the wood ?"

Sounds good to me. I am sure he will have fun. He might have a headache after 100 miles in my car!!

Lovin the idea - Maybe Zedward could bring a card with him that we could all sign
Count me in
Dalton in Furness, Cumbria (LA15)
Charity wise my preference would be any kids one, but more than happy to go with the majority or OP

What a great idea, I'm in . Barnehurst in Kent.
Will he help me if I get lost . Great Ormond Street Hospital would be a good cause.

I have to warn you he is a big boy, but he gets a great reaction and everybody points at you or speaks to you when they can. I used to just keep saying "He's better company than the wife and eats less "

I did think about getting a matching fancy dress outfit, so we looked the same, just to double the reaction !
