z4 carbon leather dash on ebay.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as carbon leather.
I didn't take to it personally.
My PC has a carbon insert and a turbo button.

As for pushing prices through the roof.
I sometimes bid on things I am half interested in because I feel the seller deserves more.
Have you noticed how BMW snap up underpriced cars?

It isn't all about you mac.
Your language was unnecessary and your tone was unpleasant.

I can understand both sides of the argument

I guess until your in the position where you want to buy something on ebay, then its posted on here meaning people who dont normally check ebay are alerted to it - in turn potentially driving up the sale price

i agree and i do see his point, but as i pointed out, i recently bought some cheap facelift rear lights after a member on here was kind enough to post the link up. without him doing that, i wouldn't have seen them, so i thought i'd return the favour to other members incase they hadn't seen this

A year ago I would have been bidding strongly for this, but I've come to like the piano black, and it's much better for sticking the TomTom to than carbon leather.

Just a quick question...
If this is from a car bought new in Oct 2006 (and obviously built before that), then why is there a cut-out for the airbag deactivation light (as well as the sport button), as I thought it only came on 2007+ build cars. Was it an optional extra on the earlier cars?
ISOFIX was available as an option on most years... Was about £50... And came with the airbag deactivation.

Would love this interior - wonder what I could get for my piano black?

Seen many arguments over the years about posting eBay links.

I don't bother as I might be screwing someone else out of a decent deal but then people who post eBay links think they are being helpful to the rest of the community.

I posted a link ages ago on the TT Forum and had about 20 PM's off people berating me saying that thy were watching that and in posting the link I have ruined the chance of them getting a cheap price. lol.

The dash trim was the first thing I wanted to change when I bought my Z ......( its the brushed alloy) its grown on my now and I prefer it :)

People believe they have found a secret item, when I'd be very surprised that they ever have.

Personally I think posting links to unusual/ rare items is far more valuable to the community here, than allowing somebody to continue their naive belief they have stumbled across some treasure.

I mentioned the Sepang Bronze Coupé that was discussed here a few weeks back.

I'm not currently in a position to buy but will be this summer. The wood trim put me off the car, however, this auction will give me an idea of what I might be able to pick up a CL dash for. Whilst rare they obviously aren't unattainable.

Because of this thread, I'll definitely consider a car with less than desirable trim.

So Ben G, thanks for posting, you've definitely helped me out!

Sure it will do, but at an inflated price ;)

+1 on that

Well at £320 would it be cheaper to get it professionally wrapped in the stuff? Or even proper resin coated CF?

I helped my bro carbon fibre a canadian canoe a couple of years ago. It isn't that hard to get a good finish and the materials were not extortionate. You can do a 16 foot canoe for less than a leather dash.

How much do you think the price would be inflated by?

There has already been 45 bids on the dash?

I can't see that posting the link is really going to make much difference, plenty of people had spotted this already on eBay. I can't imagine that many auctions go completely unnoticed other than by 1 person, only for a post on this forum to generate more interest.

If you wanted to get this cheap you should have been around in 2008, which is when i bought mine on ebay.

Seller wouldnt post which limited his market but was in london and cost me £180.

These items are like hens teeth and with more people willing to mod these cars as they are getting older there is more of a market.

Be under no illusion though, there are probably half a dozen folk on here with a ebay notification everytime a Z4 dash trim listing gets added, let alone ll the non members doing the same.

We have all noticed this one will only work for cars with ISOFIX ? - it has holes on either side of the console.
Mentioning it so someone does not make an expensive mistake

Ye I can see this going high. Fair posting it but no chance if I was interested in it.

Although not unattainable this is the first one I have seen for sale.

TBH I have the Carbon trim and it is nice but a bit dull. If it were proper CF like the newer ones in the E90/2 then would be a lot nicer.

You could always install it and just put the isofix cap in it without it being installed.

Thats a lot... cheaper to wrap your own set... yes it aint leather, but I'd rather spend £30 on a good vinyl than almost £400 on this set... wow!

I would rather have piano black than shiny carbon fibre trim - I like the carbon fibre because it is a matt finish but it might be because the rest of the interior is not ebony .

I looked into a Carbon Leather retrim when I had the 3.0 and it would have ended up being expensive as you have got to buy the whole hide .

Anyone called Sopers to findcout what main dealer new price is ? - I phoned About a new centre console for an Alpina( one I was looking at was badly scuffed) and was quoted 400 for the centre console from Alpina .
