Z4 3.0 Coupe market watch

It’s just my gut opinion on having met the seller and seen the car, the guy advertised it as full service history when I got there he didn’t have any at all, that meant no proof the car has ever been serviced.
If he magically produces any now I’d be very sceptical on its authenticity.

That makes sense, sometimes you can get a bad vibe off an owner. I'd be lying if I hadn't got the same impression from the ad myself! It was the black wheels and multi storey car park photos that put me off.

So apparently it’s his 3/4th car he owns,it’s stored in an underground car park at his work so hardly ever used which if true could be a problem.
Totally honest I think he bought it without any history and is hoping that someone will buy it without noticing too

It’s silly, ultimately service history does get lost and plenty are cars are sold without, so I don’t understand why advertise it as such, it’s just dishonest

I agree the most annoying thing is in his 1 paragraph advert in autotrader at the time he had wrote “full service history” four times!!
It’s my fault I shouldn’t have drove 186 miles each way before seeing a photo of proof but as he had stated full service history four times I assumed he would perhaps have maybe even an empty book when I got there but oh no he had nothing and when I asked him a why did he buy the car without history he just said “I dunno I just liked it”

Just to add the black wheels look bad condition in the flesh, it’s almost as though someone had sprayed over rusting wheels with a rattle can spray hoping you won’t notice, they haven’t prepared or removed rust before spraying over

Yes this one has been about for ages. Many will disagree but I have never understood this desire to paint wheels black. For me the wheel detail gets lost agains the black tyre and in this case the paintwork. I think this is a major reason this car has not sold. Buyers like original cars, and this one immediately screams out modified as soon as you see it.
I tried to check the MOT history, however the site is down at present.

Sounds like he's not too bothered by selling either, especially if he's put the price up. The MOT checker is back online now and I took a look at it, the miles look genuine enough but almost every year since 2012 there's been an advisory or a fail for really basic stuff, wipers/tyres/etc. Speaks to a bit of a shoestring budget or uncaring ownership. MOT's actually due on the 25th, so we can pop back in a couple of weeks to see if he's put it through and how many miles it's done in the last year!

To be fair though If someone puts service history you expect some sort of history. By all accounts it sounds like this Coupe is going to be forsale for a lot longer unless the price drops by a bit!

I was looking for something else but stumbled across this one.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109127281281?include-delivery-option=on&make=BMW&model=Z4&sort=relevance&postcode=gu470za&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&transmission=Manual&radius=1500&body-type=Coupe&page=1

While it looks like a Sport rather than an SE to me, the price struck me as "ambitious" given the mileage!

I think they will have it for some time.

To be fair that looks like a super clean example with a pretty good spec but yeah its probably 2 or 3k too much

Makes you wonder if they are going up in value as they don’t seem to be inline with the new car market increases, perhaps not increasing in value as much as the rhetoric may have you believe

This guy has been specialising in Z4 for the last couple of years and has a good reputation for presenting good solid cars. You are paying a premium for this obviously, however could be well worthwhile for some people. He's also a great guy to deal with.

I can 2nd that Benderloch. Bought mine from him in August and he was spot on to deal with, no hard sell BS. I think he expects to be bartered so prices high. I managed to negotiate a good price on mine. Mine is similar miles to that one though and a sport so looks a little heavy but I'm sure someone will snap it up!

That's useful information for anyone looking for one.

Ebay notified me earlier that this one has been relisted for £8,250.

Looks like the 'Specialist Trader Tax' at it again. For what it's worth I did speak to this guy about a grey E86 he had for sale around my budget when I was searching, he seemed like a decent sort!

This looks like a rather nice coupe for someone.

The colour of the leather seats are beautiful! Looks a nice motor.

Very nice interior with Amarone leather and piano black dash - lovely. It has heated seats and Bi-Xenons - great.

Nice Alpine white one listed on eBay

Yes nice car and Alpine White. Assuming the service history is complete a good buy for someone. I personally do not like 19in wheels on these cars for a number of reasons, however these 18in CSL reps look good.

Very nice and interesting that this is viewed as a good buy today. 12 months ago an e86 on 122k was typically advertised at around £7k, now it’s a couple of grand higher. £9k would have had you a 60k-80k car with actually not much statistical difference between Sport and SE. One thing I have noticed is that there are many more higher mileage (120k+) cars coming to market now, perhaps because sellers realise they can get good money for them. . . . Or perhaps because they have done more mileage
