Thanks to this thread I've ordered a new 2.0 M Sport. Spec is completely standard aprt from metallic (Space Grey). Got a good price for my Mini Cooper S and paying £2k down £299 x 24. Had no intention of changing just came across the offers whilst browsing the BMW site, and found this thread last week via google.

Your welcome...and enjoy it when it arrives.

I'm due to take delivery end of April/ beginning of March. Looking forward to something completely different from my Cooper S (which has been fantastic).

I think you are already a little bit giddy about this "End of April/Beginning of March"

They state a "3 month build time" but they also build many premade ones that get shipped around the country for showroom cars. depends if you really want that spec or willing to deviate a little ... :?

Guy on here who has been dealing for a Z4 said that the prebuilds are extremely rare at the moment!

Guess Merc are doing something similar, was in on the sunday test driving an SLK auto (to put my mind at rest  ) The Z4 was the better car imo, but they were also going mad with deals and discounts. 2k off a car if you upgrade to AMG spec.
A further 2k off the car if you buy this weekend (friday till monday close) and £500 off if the car you pick has a special number on it x2 ...
In other words another £1000 off

A saving of £5000 off a SLK AMG list price ain't too shabby :!:

Did some 'man maths' today as I've never been a fan of buying new, thinking used 12-18 months etc is better value. This may still be true if buying outright, but looking at finance the deal we got on the new z4 is cheaper than a 1 year old car.

This is the cheapest Sdrive23i Msport on AUC within 100 miles of me @ £22,571. The spec is similar but slightly inferior to our new one.

With the same deposit we are putting down, the finance quote comes back at £428 per month over 4 years, compared with the £300 we are paying. Used cars are quoting 13.9% APR as opposed to the 4.9% of new cars.

Even the total amount payable comes in slightly lower. Admittedly, you may be able to get a bit off the car with negotiation, but then factor in the fact you have a year newer car with 0 miles, longer warranty, better fuel consumption, lower tax etc it does show that new can in fact be better than used.

Just confirms we have made the right decision and a bit of a no brainer really! :D

Yeah, good point. The dealer demo was a 2011 23i with about 7k on the clock and just basic sport spec (no other toys apart from heated seats). The deal on the 20i with no toys and heated seats is the same money, so why buy the used one. Admittely, this deal hasn't helped residuals if your trying to sell now.

Yeah no doubt about it, I'm sure anyone selling a zed now is pretty peeved off.

Guessing when we all come to sell ours in 3-4 years time it'll be the same story

BUT thats not for another 3 years so why worry now when we have a brand new roadster to enjoy in the present

The guy up the road from me has a '57 plate Z4 and was interested in this offer, but the part exchange price was an insult, so he hasn't gone for it.

TANGENT.. Did anyone get the extended leather on their new 20i's? For me it sets the car apart covering most all plastic with much nicer materials.. Just wondering if I'm the only 'inside means more than outsides' person?

Looks nice but if I remember correctly it was quite a bit extra, I'd rather have nav...so that's what I did!

Not us. We'd have preferred the Leatherette if it was offered in the UK. We had 'ette on or US spec. X3 and it was top quality -- Hard to tell apart from the real thing but much easier to clean.

We aren't hard core vegetarians, but I'll take a good alternative to leather when available.

Prebuilts are all gone, because BMW announced a deal that started late on Friday on prebuilt m sports, giving an additional £1500 incentive to the car. Equivalent to a free comfort pack.

Dealer has been trying for me yesterday/today without success. All built cars are gone!!

Looks like it's a new order for me with an estimated delivery time of end of May.

Thats weird my dealer is trying to push me towards a pre-built. Will give £7.5k dealer contribution on factory order but £10.5k on pre-built.

If they are desperately selling the showroom cars, does this not mean a facelift is coming? They do need showroom cars after all....

Probably has nothing to do with it.

End of the month and end of quarter, time to move out that stock before the offer ends. Car sales live month to month and quarter to quarter.

LCI (Facelift), if there is one at all, isn't going to happen before July.
