Z4 2.0i M Sport Finance Deals

DEAL ends 31st March..

i am on 48 months but dealer told me i can swap out after 24/36 if i fancied. Obviously would have to be a BMW as they use the remaining equity i think towards deposit

Basically i specced up my Z4 20i came to about 37k OTR, i plan on doing 10-15k miles per year. I guess it would be very hard for you guys to work out, but any ideas on what a good deal would be as in deposit and monthly cost?

Options other than paint don't add to the final value. That means you have to pay the full price of the options either in deposit or during the contract term. Use any of the on-line finance calculators to figure out how much your goodies add to the payments.

The quoted lease offers are at 8k miles per year. 10k or 15k will add to the monthly payment but reduce the optional final payment. Makes sense since you are using up more of the car.

Or if you decided to hand it back after 24 months what would you lose out on?

Well you don't have the Z any more.

Finally im looking to buy in 6 months time, so end of Sept, is this deal likely to even be around then?

BMW offers run for a quarter. The current offer is for cars ordered by the end of Marchl. September is in the July, August, September quarter. I don't have a crystal ball. My guess is summer deals on convertibles won't be as good.

Well we've been finally to test drive a 20i today at our local dealers. only had 22 miles on the clock! I was very pleasantly surprised with it after driving the 23i last week and whilst not exhilarating it certainly has adequate performance and the low down torque helps it pull nicely.

After saying we would not sign on the line today, we have ended up doing a deal and placing an order!

The car is primarily for my other half (I still have the 123d and the TVR) but I'm sure I'll get to drive it as well.

We haven't gone mad on extras, but think we got a good deal as they bettered the offer that Menzies BMW advertise

Alpine white
Black leather
Heated seats
Wind deflector
Front and rear parking sensors
Car list price £33775

Deposit £1439 (£309 plus cost of the extras)
£300 month for 48 months
Full tank of fuel

Car due to be delivered week 17, which is around my partners birthday. :D

Deposit

Hi, congrats on the purchase. Was this deal from Solihull BMW? Looks like best yet! What was the dealer contribution?

Hi, The total contribution works out at £9016.54 (made up of £6731.54 BMW/Dealer contribution, £2225 BMW finance, £60 tank of fuel) which I was very pleased with :D

However, the only slight downside is that they have set the optional final payment slightly higher, which they have said is due to the extras giving it a slightly higher residual value (not convinced). My final payment is 12737 as opposed to 12497 on the Menzies offer for the standard car.

It's only a £240 difference so does this seem reasonable, and for those of you with 4 year PCP's what final payments do you have?

You can still get out of a 48 month deal in 24/36 months etc, provided you have positive equity in the car, which may be possible but it depends upon how residuals hold up over the next few years and nobody has a crystal ball.

I was told that metallic paint was the only option on a Z4 that adds to the residual. But who knows. With a deposit contribution just over £9000, I wouldn't be too worried about the £240 at the end. 9K is over 25% of MSRP!

Hugh discount.

When I ordered mine, I decided to add sat nav and some other toys, and the residual went up by a few hundred. I dont have metalic paint, so other things do add to the value, but not by a huge amount.

Cant remember now, but mine is in the 12.5k range?...All I think is that it means the car depreciates £20k in 4 years! Ouch!

After a good shake . . . £500.00

prbably worth about 26k as soon as you drive of the forecourt

then lose about 3-3.5k per year so 12-13k

I think you might get a shock... cars depreciate rapido in the first 2-3 years. Generally speaking by year three they've lost 50% of their value. My car, a specced up 35i billed in at £48k. Its now arguably worth around £22K and its just 2.5 years old. Granted the more you spend the faster you lose, but even so, don't expect the extra 10mpg the 20i gets to stave off horrible depreciation. Its the way of the world right now.

+1

BMW UK aim for realistic residuals. At the end of the contract, your car will likely be worth something close to residual. Depreciation isn't a straight line. The value falls off a cliff as soon as you plate it. Wholesale value of a highly spec'd car falls off a higher cliff. I wouldn't count on having any equity 2 years into a 4 year contract.

In the US, A BMW's value takes another big drop when the factory warranty expires. 1 and 3 series cars hold their value better than Z4's. 7 series cars have the biggest drop. UK market may be different.

I got just under 9k dealer contribution incl full tank and discounted GAP and tyre insurance, my residual values £13,232 based on 8000 miles pa, I've added auto to mine which has mbe put the final value up a bit more which along with the lower mileage seems to count, and its white so no metallic either...

No sweat Geeman but use that as your starting point with ur guys, looking back over my figures I've actually ended up "saving" 9.5k from total cost after GAP,tyre and fuel were added!
The deals are out there if dealers dont want people to walk. Couple of days after my first visit to mine I got a survey e-mailed to me asking how they did, I filled in under the comments section " although staff were good they let me leave without selling me a car " so I dont know if this was fed back to the manager, but they certainly didnt let me leave the next time lol.
Good luck with your negotiations and, just before you say yes ask for something else lol, you never know...

Was out in a 2.0i yesterday for a test drive... (not an M sport but a 2.0i all the same)

Was a bit disappointed with the performance to start with but then switched to Sport mode and was much happier! :)

Very different characteristics to my 3.0si which I expected, and a far more significant difference when sport mode is on/off.
The turbo whistle is quite addictive!

Hill start assist definitely not on the 2.0i. Suffered roll back assuming it did!!!!

It cut out too (or I thought it did!!!) and ended up faffing about with the start/stop button and the key .. turns out that was the "efficient dynamics Auto start/stop" kicking in.

That got me thinking... maybe if it has Auto/start stop it can't also have hill start assist??? Efficient Dynamics is only available on 2.0i engine... and it uses the clutch as a sensor to restart the engine, which I think "hill start assist" also does? I'm no expert in this but just a thought?

Anyway, going back to dealers tonight to talk money so might be another purchase on the cards!

Still waiting to have a go in the 2.0 :| even though I've placed an order :D Dealer only had a 2.3 demo in at the time. I didn't realise the 2.0 had the stop/start :( I'm hoping it can be switched off like in my 1 Series as I never used it.

Good luck with the dealer.

Tim.

Our 2008 MINI Cooper had both auto start-stop and Hill Start assist.

The R56 MINI shares some underlying technology with the e89.

No deal ...

This is what I was offered... 10k for my car, offered me 2225 as part exchange allowance, wanted me to pay deposit of 3208, giving me 48 payments of 408! This is against full price of 33.5k

Ok my car has a wee bit of finance to clear and that's in the deal but in my book, that still only adds up to dealer contribution of 5.5k, nowhere near any advertised deal.

Really disappointed!

you know you don't have to buy from your local dealer! I talked to a dealer 300 miles away and he offered to deliver the car to my door  if you are serious about buying, look a bit further and mention the deals other members have reached, if they want to have a sale, they will do their best to get your business :)
