It just does it
There are alot worse issues, for example Rear springs made from twigglets

I'm getting mine checked by an Independent BMW specialist tomorrow, they are running a diag and checking cylinder compression for £30 so cant grumble at that. The mechanic said they do hunt a bit at idle but as the car is under warranty im getting it checked for piece of mind...

The garage said they would try changing the coils checking the plugs etc, but they didnt think it worth taking out the idle control valve and cleaning it. However to my shock, the recent diag highlighted the cat wasnt working on the exhaust!!!!! At just 39,000 miles!! Thankfully the car is under warranty but this is the first car ive ever had where ive needed to have the cat replaced!
Will be very interested to hear how you get on Tuesday!

GaryH said:Hey thats excellent news, unfortunately im down in Devon so quite some distance from Bradford! According to the computer they attached to mine it was running at 800rpm on idle, and varying between 780 and 815. Hmmm, wonder if my dealer can reload a throttle map on mine! Will have to ask them. Glad you got yours sorted though, wish Bradford was closer lol!!
