Z3 to Ferrari in one easy step........

I just found a picture I posted of the car back in November 2023. Wow! Even I didn't realise how much work has gone into it (and I did it)!
I hope you're going to return it to OEM spec before selling it... :p

I have thought about that.....if it can be returned to being a roadworthy Z3. The answer is a resounding NO. It's as it is or scrap. :)

Excellent work, and I have to eat my words that you would abandon it after 6 months. Very well done, or “most excellent” as an absent member would say

How about adding an S54 next if you’re bored??
That really would be the icing on the cake.đŸ˜ŠđŸ‘đŸ»

Nah!
The car is a 3 litre M54 with 230bhp which, as it happens, is an almost identical power output to the original Columbo V12.
TBH I wouldn't want it 'fast', chances are things may fall off!!

Cool, understood, M54B30 is still a great unit.
Out of interest, how does the physical size and proportions compare to the real deal? Excuse my ignorance.
It looks spectacular but just wondering if there’s much difference.
I remember seeing an MR2 - F355 spider years ago and it looked silly and so obviously fake.
Yours is on another lever entirely of course and looks amazing.
Is it the Ferris Bueller car?

The Ferris Bueller 'kit cars' are what mine is based upon, apparently. I don't know the full story of how the UK kit came about, but the dimensions of the Z3, ie wheelbase and track are very very similar to the original Ferrari. The kit extends the overall length of the Z3 by around 15".

The kit is so close to the Ferrari dimensions and styling that the designers/ producers were shut down by Ferrari lawyers and Trading standards back in 2017.

Congratulations Pondrew, it looks great, I’m particularly impressed by the interior.

The fit and finish also looks genuinely excellent and I can’t imagine that was easy to achieve. Tbh, I expect it’s all aligned at least as well as the real thing, if not better knowing what old Italian stuff is like.

Cool, I love that film and now need to rewatch. Sounds like you’ve saved yourself several million and must also have an incredible sense of achievement.

It's not finished yet. Fitting the headlight covers is a particular challenge. I ruined one set, so had to buy new ones, which are not cheap!
