Z3 project...no going back now!

When's the 'for sale' advert being posted?
Well I bought the car on 15th October 2023, so I've owned it for longer than any other car ever (except leases which don't count). So I reckon it should be for sale the minute I can get an MOT stifficate. It may be a while, as my upholsterer comes up with a new excuse every day why he hasn't finished the interior yet. Today's was his van has broke. Sounds like 'the dog ate my homework' now.
Yours for just Β£65k (enough to buy the three classics I would like).

If only the coolant temperature gauge worked!!!

Nobody is going to argue with you on those points Andy. But joking apart you have done a first rate job. I would even consider doing you a straight swop for a very well cared for, low mileage, white E89.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Andy, does it have to be taxed and MOT'd as a Z3 given the underlying structure and mechanicals are still a BMW Z3?
Yes......sort of.
It will be MOTed now as a Z3 and taxed as such. Once it has a valid MOT I will change the name on the V5, so it will no longer officially be a Z3. From next year it will be MOTed as whatever it will be called then, which is confusing to me and probably the MOT station. I presume it will be taxed from next year as now because it is emissions based (being a 2001), so that won't change.

My Fauxrarri is now MOTed (no advisories), taxed and insured.
I can now get the headlight covers on and sort out an exhaust. :)

The garage fitted my water temp sensor, so I have the full array of working gauges aswell.

Oh that's great news, hope your going to take your beloved on a UK touring holiday in it, you know for her suffering and all :thumbsup:

I'm sure there's many on here who'd love to see it and put you up for a night as part of the process.

Fixed that.

I have a very good friend who lives near Camberley, so we could make that work maybe?

Fair enough, I was trying to be polite but needn't have bothered!

Camberley is only about 6 or 7 miles from me so that might well be possible.
