Your Z4 Moment of 2010?

Well mine had to be my 3 weeks long Vacation Trip in the USA totalling some 13,303 KM, there were several Z4 Moments. One moment sticks out when I had a flat and found out the reason was a wheel crack. The moment was then heightened during the new wheel installation that the other wheel also had 2 cracks. Oh well, I have to say that this one bad day experience was overshadowed by the many pleasant moments I did have during my cross country trip. :)

Some of you have properly seen some of the photos I took during that trip http://web.me.com/solgain/Road_Trip...da/2010_Road_Trip;_By_Rolf-Dieter_Canada.html

PawnSacrifice, yes an excellent thread to close out the year...

Our local ZSCCA chapter had a number of excellent events this past year and a lot of great memories. It's really difficult to pick one however, if I must choose then it would be the National ZSCCA North East Regional cruiZe in West Virginia last May. That was 3 days of great driving in the mountains of West Virginia.

One of the very best things about owning a Zed is all of the great individuals you meet.

Nice picture Bill I am sure you have nice memories as well  Speaking of West Virginia, reminds me of the song .... West Virginia Mountain Mama .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoRaYO3rRvg that I played over and over again last time I drove thru that part of our beautiful North America :)

Driving to Le Mans :) with a convoy of mates in sportscars, tunnel runs, racing, happy dats and same again this year, Plus my Refurb on alloys!

Nice Thread..... remember the road PSacrifice mentions well .. loved the way in that valley you kind of drop into it and can see the road all the way through it.

Favorite moments of 2010.... picking up 1 Maldives Blue Roadster from a true gent in late april and then the delights of the delivery trip from lincolnshire to aberdeenshire using as many a roads as possible including the cat and fiddle - kirkstone pass - a cut through the borders and then over Glenshee home.. :driving:

the Skye trip was a real highlight of the year .. difficult to pick a favourite moment of this great weekend (thanks again a11y) but probably the Tour de Skye with Siftah and Pawn Sacrifice some great roads and some fantastic views.... ( Sorry Siftah .. somehow you are missing from this Photo)

Thanks to all on the forum this year and hope you all enjoy 2011 with your Z4 quite as much as I've enjoyed 2010 ...

One of my fave memories for this last year with my Z4 is the May day run in Kent/Sussex/Surrey. This was the first meet I went on, and was great (even with the terrible traffic getting home and the M25 being at a standstill - Pawnsacrifice and I had some fun trying to figure out the quickest route home through all the traffic). Was fun driving in the good weather with the roof down and met some nice people and their partners. I was very happy at the general consideration of the other forum members when we were driving and not being pressured to go at speeds I'd be uncomfortable with. :driving:

Another fave memory is the July Lake District meet. Some beautiful scenery and a fun weekend.

Good thread. Quite a few to choose from but my most memorable moments were from a couple of the forum meets...
The first one was on the buttertubs pass on the North Yorkshire meet last April(ish). I'd never been on it before but the undulations were like being on a rollercoaster, my passenger and I were pissing ourselves laughing at how much fun it was.
..
Even though I was passenger, I'd say the advantage was being able to take in some of the wonderful views (even though I was bounced off the roof along the Butter Tubs road). Aebeous with his whiskey at the campsite - definitely a good idea with the cold cold weather!

Best single moment was how shiny my car looked after being treated with Dodo Juice Rainforest rub wax. Revelation at how well it worked after the Meguiars Gold Glass being quite rubbish. Love it when my car looks clean and shiny!

I have just finished giving mine 3 coats of Dodo juice purple haze after a year of using Meguirs mirror shine, Results are really good, My car no longer looks polished and waxed, it looks almost Brand new really impressed with it and it certainly justifies the price.

Sorry to go off topic

Nosa, wouldn't do to stay on topic now would it?

Some great accounts so and photos too! The roads trips all look great... good to see these cars getting used properly - even if it is just in the summer months for some of you :poke: But yeah, in year 1 I don't think much would have topped that moment of knowing it was my Z4! Or so I thought... a year on this forum and now it really is MY car.

Have enjoyed reading these so far...

More please...

If I am not mistaken Pawn, is this not your Z4 moment you describe at about 5:54

All the meets i've been on this year, great roads and great like minded people for that i thank you all  ,but the best moment of 2010 was the North East meet in May which included the 350z's,for some reason myself, sammyz and Angus McCoat got split from the main group so we had a bit of a white knuckle ride back to Hawes.

So i was chasing a M Roadster and a M Coupe and my 2.2 performed outstandingly

So hopefully more of the same in 2011

For me it had to be last Tuesday when I collected my Coupe and had a big grin on my face all the way home. It changed quickly on Wednesday morning when I woke up to find it buried in snow!

Indeed :D Felt a lot more hardcore than it looked - were a couple other good bits playing catchup - as Redzedfour (nice coupe mate) said that's where the actions at! Remember stopping, where the opening shot was taken, and Siftah asking, "where the hell did you come from?" It was a great trip... it's top of my list for 2011!

And yeah, all those collecting their cars around now (in the UK at least), patience, it's worth it! Should be plenty on here to keep you going in the meantime.

Great thread- has to the meets for me- probably the national meet on the lakes- but have to agree with bradders75 that run over wood head was fun

Great thread and loving just looking at all the shots from everyone over the year.

So many great moments in 2010 but in terms of a single event with the Zed it has to be the Lakes trip. Combination of great weather, location, camping and socilaising with such a great crowd  Even the reactions of people to so many Zed's in Windermere and whenever we pulled up was amazing to see

Hard to capture it but a couple of shots on with the drive up an awesome pass and the second a quick snap as we skirted the lake:

A favourite shot? So many, but an unusual one capturing the weather and sky of this Summer, along with what I've largely finished creating:

I've not had mine long. Even so I already have several good memories. Acting like some 17 year old while 'testing' my winter tyres out on a large open carpark, or the looks you get when having the roof down, while there is snow on the ground.

I must get on some of the meets this year coming, looks like great fun.

The Lakes/Dales meet in July, for the drives :driving: (kindly sorted out by Sammyz),and for meeting ppl from the forum(for the 1st time). was a great weekend, and had a great time with a great bunch of z4 owners. was good to meet every1,and we even managed a decent bbq too :D
Also Sammyz's (2nd) Wales meet a few months back, despite the rain in the middle, was another great meet

As for my z itself, doing the ebc brake discs, which look great, and were good, initially(only for them to last a mere 10months on the front/for ? who knows what reason?),and the wheel refurb done earlier in the year :D

Looking forward to spring/summer next yr already, and more meets :driving:

It's been mentioned by a few folk already, but my Z4 highlight of the year was the Skye trip in August. A combination of great company, great roads, and perfect weather (my roof was only up for overnight) for the duration - all combined to make a great trip away. I'd already been on a similar trip to Skye and Applecross earlier in the year but this one stood out overall. I'm certainly looking forward to more forum trips in 2011 :)

Sorry but I'm going to post 2 photos: the first is a memory of the above trip - whilst not the greatest photo I've taken, it always brings back how I was feeling at that moment! Just arrived in Mallaig and found out there was no space on a ferry to Skye for the next 12hrs+ for nine Z4s. My mood was NOT the best...

And this photo is the one I'm probably most impressed with for 2010, mainly due to the circumstances. I 'd had a work-related meeting in Stirling but chucked the camera and tripod in the car, just in case. Meeting overran and left me with zero time to get where I wanted to for the sunset, so instead I took a blast straight home via the B-roads. I just came across this location completely by chance, rattled off a very quick few photos, and got very lucky with this one. IMO it's one of my best quality photos I've taken of my Z4, and even better is it wasn't tweaked or photoshopped in the least:

Really enjoyed the meets this year, especially the National meet weekend. Nice people, nice cars and some atrocious weather on the Sunday which cleared the roads for a great blast back to Crooklands for the 4/5 cars that had stayed to the bitter end!

No faint hearts on that run!

As usual a big thank you to everyone who organised and turned up for these meets, they are what makes this forum so special.

Mines pretty simple z4m + ess supercharger = 460hp on 100octane, and that = a massive smile on my face, i was so worried i would kill the driveability, the fun and basically loose that balance. The car is sublime, so fast so completly stock like, it feels just like a bigger engine has been dropped in the car, combine the cars prestine concours type condition and its a stunner to behold, my moment of 2010?? Opening the hood to my local car club and having a crowd of people ask about the car, the pride i felt at that moment will stay with me forever!!
