Reebok stadium car park at 17 for me! With a couple of my friends all in fiestas, priceless experience, we also had the use of traffic cones wich helped! Hand braking sideways through cones around a foot longer than the car certainly improves car control! Came in extremely useful, at most when hitting spilt diesel on a roundabout whilst giving it some :|

Do a search on frozen door handles and windows - useful advice for dealing with them
Also, wait till the hood has thawed before putting it down (because it should be down !)
Found out when travelling to Scotland for Christmas that when it is -12 only neat windscreen wash works, so carry a 5 litre bottle if you're going somewhere really cold... Frightening lesson to learn on the M74 south of Glasgow with only two lanes and artics you can't see overtaking you at speed
Finally from me, sand is not just good for weight - if you get a little coal shovel and carry that then it won't take up much space and ou can dig out / shovel sand for grip if you get stuck. Also handy if you need to batter someone who's just crashed into you. :evil:

Was talking to another Z4 owner in my area (she drives an "M" ... damn her!) lamenting the fact that I probably wouldn't be able to drive my soft-top Z4 much through the winter months, and was summarily informed that I was out of my mind. Her response: "The winter is one of the best times to drive with top down! Wear a jacket and turn up the heat! What do you think the heated seats are for?"
So that's what I'll be doing ... as long there's nothing wet or cold falling out of the sky. 8)

GreatMake sure you have strong concentration of screen wash so it does not freeze. better still disconect your head light washers. I didnt do either last year and they froze, I then turned them on and cracked them. Cost £200 plus and the steeler had my car for a month trying to fix it.
I have already got a selection of silly hats ready for roof down winter driving, the girlfriend is'nt so keen on the idea. Heated seats are a great bonus for sure! Ordered myself a outdoor half cover and now am ready for my first winter with the Z4. Not looking forward to the snow but never get much on the coast of North Wales 
I'm looking forward to see if the M Diff helps in snow, previous 3.0 was laughably the worst car I had ever try to use in the snow and got stranded 5 ft from my garage 
Bridgestone RFT's probably didn't help.
My tip would be to make sure your washer fluid is strong enough not to freeze and to cycle your headlamp washers ensuring the stronger winter mix is in the pipes. Expensive to fix if they split or the turrets pop out.

Is there a how-to on disabling the headlight washers/pump? I've searched and couldn't find anything really.
I don't want to risk them cracking, I've not got xenon's by the way.
