Your quick wash n dry cycle - times

Thanks Bing. It isn't half hard work keeping it that way though as you know!! I do bugger all miles during the week though so it's not so bad in truth. Prob do the interior - just a vac and quick wipe down - either tonight or next weekend. I'll start another thread in this forum a bit later with last week's polishing effort. Took absolutely all day and still didn't do all that I wanted. Also gave me a bad back!!

Just washing mine now ... A bit dusty from pollen rather than anything else.

Got to admit ... I've realised I spend a LOT of time doing this , tarting about and not a whole lot of work :-D

Takes you so long because you're sitting on your ass talking about it and taking photos Tom :poke:

Classy wellies :D

Exactly , and the obligatory time / excuse to sit and watch the snowfoam drip off. Then the obligatory stand from a distance with a fine mist and watch beading between stages. I reckon I could do it in 15 mins if I wasn't lazy, and slightly obsessed with the car.

Normally mine is around 90 mins at home, or if i'm on the go.. usually try to find one of the new generation of Shell Jet washes, i can do a quick spray/wipe in 15 mins :D Does enough to remove dust and grime, with their pathetic wax stuff that makes it bead for an hour or two lol.

You know you're getting sad when you have a detailing 'go bag' in the boot 24/7.

Just done it again - wash, dry, QD 90 mins bang on. Guess I know for sure now. Not including wheels, I'll do them at the weekend

Coming from someone who was used to regularly washing this twice a week......

....I like to think I have gotten my technique down to a fine art..... and for me to do an absolutely top job with all the anti-swirl methods deployed, it usually takes me 50-60 mins. Could be quicker if needed but thats really not paying the attention I'd like to it.

ONE THING I WILL SAY though folks that cut my time down dramatically is using a WOOLY MAMOUTH drying towel. They are UBER thirsty and you can do a whole Zed without even needing to wring it out once! In fact I reckon you could do THREE without wringing out!

I just lay it on, then pat my other hand over the back of it and lift...... JOB DONE car immaculate and no water marks.

HERES MY ROUTINE:
* Blast with the Jet washer on the worst bits
* Snow Foam with the lance
* Rinse
* Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds and Mr Pink 50/50 mixed in a bucket with grit-guard (2 bucket method)
* Ultra thirsty Wookie Mitt to wash with
* Rinse off with hose
* Wheel Wash
* Rinse whole car with three capfuls of Demon Shine in a watering can to aid drying process
* Wooly Mamouth Drying towel dried
* Meguires Last Finish/Touch Quick Detail.

..............if I have time and I am that way inclined I might add a quick thin coat of R222 Concourse Wax :thumbsup:

Is anyone doing their car one panel at a time? I'm starting to think its the only way I can do my black car in the summer months. Even with thorough rinsing it leaves marks behind (is this a hard water issue?)

Time taken this weekend approx 2hours, but that included messing around with some old collinite, polishing exhaust tips and generally taking my time.
