my first would have been a spectrum

my first ever job was at a computer manufacturer, i recall being blown away with a 256K ram card, i also recall the posh pc's didn't have a 'B' drive, they had a hard disk drive, wow they were awesome

Green Breret, throwing hand granades :-). That was before I was allowed to watch Rambo (first blood)!
 
Not my first computer, but I remember working up to my MBA, I replaced a typewiter with a home built pc. 286 processor iirc. saved me hours using wysiwyg on a screen instead of retyping every page when I made a mistake.

At the time it was real neat with a 60mb HD and 2mb of memory and the latest 1.4mb floppies. Used disk compression to get it to 60mb. My buddy upgraded to 8mb of memory for about £300 and wea ll though it was an insane amount :rofl:

Incedentally just realised the calculator I use in my home office was the one my wife purchesed when I made it to office manager. That was in 1984... 28 years is serious service for a M&S calculator.
 
my first was the sega systems. not sure what the first family one is but its been in the loft since well before i was born in 1990
 
I've still got my mint Commodore Amiga and a box full of 3.5" disks. Anyone remember SWIV?

Yes I still have it.

First was a Compukit 100. Built on the dining room table.
ZX81,
C64, Mr minta and his cammels, what a star.
Amiga 500
Amiga 1200, still used.

Then several PC crap boxes. Presently a three year old Quad core that needs up dating. :D

Okay, ive drunk a few too many gins tonight but this topic caught me eye and though id add to it. Nothing like a 30 something inebriated fool in a hotel room after a stag night referencing vintage computers right?

Used to programme in BASIC from Crash magazine.

...shoot me now. And yes, I discovered girls and it all changed quite quickly after that.
