Your favorite feature

It was the beefy head and cool swerves and cuttings on the side of the Zed that I found attractive. Under the right light or when newly waxed the light just hits the Zed in all the right places for that slick finish. I know there are a lot of comments on the forum saying that the Zed looks like a 'woman's' car, but in fact I find the Zed very manly because it's very 'chunky-like', especially in the darker grey and black colours. Before, I was stuck between choosing Black, Maldives Blue, Olive-Green and Merlot Red. But somehow ended up with White... :oops:
 
i like the orange cabin lighting that comes from the light/rear view mirror unit. took me a while to get used to it but no i think its nice touch, subtle but effective.
 
The hill assist function, it is amazing. Had a courtesy car whilst mine was in for 1st service the other day, kept forgetting and shi##ing myself when I came off the brake and started rolling backwards :rofl:
 
My favourite and not so favourite bits are as follows:-

Like :P
Unbelievably long wings
Flame surfacing design on the doors
My red leather
The roll over hoops
Wide transmission tunnel between the seats
The carver stereo (which sounds way better than the bose stereo i had in my TT by the way)
Driving position
Gear change (way better than the E46 which was like a spoon in a rice pudding)
The front end and the fact that it looks a bit like a 6 Series
The big round rear lights (when its dark they look huge)
And the noise !!!!

Dislike :(
The stupid run-flat tyres
Tramlining (see above)
Clutch feel
Tinny noise on doors when you close them (mine is a 2003 53)
The fact that it feels 'brittle' compared to my E46 coupe i previously had

Think thats it !
 
All the responses have led me to produce a second list of favourite bits that it's just great to see BMW got right:

Genuine CCFL AE's and not some backlit grooved rings
Electric red memory M seats in a non M
Paddle shift and MFSW
Clarion speaker system
The facelift front, clear indicators on an early model
Stubby aerial
white repeaters, centre brake light, rear lights
a standard hardtop
colour coded calipers

Wait a minute none of this is BMW I fitted/did them all........... :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

My guess is this is North American markets only? I don't have that. I think its because so many Americans / Canadians learn in an Auto then jump in a manual (here if you do your test in an Auto, that is all you can drive). So errors are all too easy...another one is in many US spec manuals you have to dip the clutch or the car will not let you start the engine - even if it's not in gear...

Your car should have it too, all the facelift cars have hill assist.

I'm gonna have to go with that one! I sometimes walk backwards when I am leaving it in a parking lot for the same reason! :D
I also like to park it far away just so that I can walk back to it and check it out when I return!
(Of course my wife doesn't understand this... :roll: )
 
Oh I also love how no matter what volume you leave the radio at when you shut the car off when you start the car back up the radio sets the volume to a safe/sane lvl.

The Z4 has what appears to be a very slimmed down version of this functionality when compared with some in the range. For instance the same era X5 adjusts Aircon temp, fan speed, radio volume/station, seats, steering wheel, mirrors and I'm sure more, based upon whick key is used. Really useful stuff

But better yet - at least in mine (M Seats) the warmers also extend at least half way up the back as well for a complete back warmer. Now just find a bumpy road once they are up to temp and you have the Z4 back massage parlor :D

My old Audis only had warmers at the seat bottom and it didn't extend up the back.

My non-M Z's entire seat warms except the headrest. from hamstrings to traps! :wink:
 
I like the electric fold up mirrors and the lowering of the roof with the key fob

mainly however, the 3 ltr engine - fab!
 
Coming from a Porsche 911, the lack of wallet-knackering repair bills is an absolutely superb feature of my Z4!

I also like the look of the big, long bonnet out in front, with that central bulge that really is needed to clear the engine. (Of course, I still firmly believe that the engine is in the wrong end of the car ;-), but that cannot be helped.) I used to drive a series 1 E-type quite regularly, and there is something really nice about the big, long bonnet of a straight-6 sports car that a flat-6 in the rear cannot give, aesthetically, if not dynamically!

my favorite feature is the auto climate control. all my cars will have that in the future, compared to my passat which does not, then i drive the z and no worries, dimming mirrors and side mirrors is pretty cool as well and handy at night, oh and the rain sensing wipers are really good as well, too bad they have to be reset each time you turn off the car, ah small complaint, like a millionaire complaining he's not getting enough interest on his 50 million dollar retirement fund,....you get the picture.

Not sure if it's a feature or over fueling, but when I'm stuck in slow moving traffic mine will crawl along in first and second?
 
Ive only had mine a few weeks but here are my likes...

The superbly comfortable seats
The Seriously chunky feel of the car - coming from a smart roadster this is a much more solid car
The wide transmission tunnel.
The chrome gear stick
Lovely thick steering wheel.
The fact that I can be stuck in traffic, the sun comes out, and I can put the hood down in a split second..
The effortless power

and my absolute favourite thing about this car?

The GROWL mmmmmmmmmm :evil: Who needs a stereo!(even though that is also fantastic!)

The only thing that annys me a bit is the tramlining/run flats but i am too scared to swap them for normal tyres in case I get caught short.
