Had my Griff for 11 years, 30,000 miles and home serviced. Never let me down. Driven it in every weather, rain, snow, shine! A good RV8 will last if looked after and the AJPV8 is pretty bullet proof. The 4.5 RR Cerbera is brutal!
I had my 4.5 Cerbera for just over 6 years & loved it to bits & I still haven't fully recovered from selling it as that's how much I loved it, but I was told the AJPV8 was bullet proof by everyone I met in TVR land but that didn't stop mine letting go & giving me a £11k bill in the end...it broke my heart & my bank balance & I only used mine as a second car I could have never trusted it as a daily that's for sure.
Mine was a one owner car with only 12k miles on it when I purchased it so I think its the look of the draw, pleased your Griff treated you well

if I had my time again I would have gone with a RV8 car as my first TVR as its a far more proven engine & has slightly more manageable running costs & they sound the dogs!
Wow, what happened?
I remember clutches were an issue for a while on the Cerbies, and there S6s have had a whole raft of problems. Sadly I still don't have the confidence to buy a S6 engined car.
My TVR's have been more reliable than all my other cars (touch wood on the Z). The Griff is knocking on 21 and still started after 4 months of not running (with a new battery) and only ever failed and MOT on HIDs.
On the switch gear front the only point I was making was that, that is why some people dislike the AMV8's interior. Personally I quite like it, but them outside is awesome.
