I think the thing is though... the X6 is a marketing department car - 4x4 is included to add gravitas and I very much doubt that it will be bought by people needing a 4x4 but rather people wanting to say they have it! For that, it hits the spot... don't believe me - BMW's marketing boys and girls are selling them!
Personally, if I wanted an interesting saloon it might make the list although probably not the final cut... if I wanted something for the green / brown stuff I'd be going for the Range Rover / AA combo. Although that would probably be on the saloon list too.
Funny thing is, as the many recent threads indicate, a lot of people don't even know what to do with a 4x4 in the snow!
TO ADD: Am happy that BMW are making these things - proves they're not just going through the motions and there's always a chance the R&D department, in filling the marketing brief, might come up with something useful in the long term!
