yeah, little bit worrying... I don't know who is admin over there to try and assist, although Spokey is mod there... maybe he will update us at some point.

The owner of the site is abroad and has been incommunicado for a while now. He has just sent me an email saying that he's found an internet cafe and he's going to try and fix it. Fingers are crossed!

Been over a week now and surprisingly little activity on this thread.

I emailed the admin offering assistance but got no reply. I guess if it comes back it comes back, but it is looking unlikely.

Gonna un-sticky this topic now.
 
TBH don't think there was much duplication in posting members between zroadster.net and this forum, people sticking to one or the other. It's a shame that it's gone though, because it was really the only Z3 forum that had any activity.

How hard is it to get a forum back that's been hacked, don't you just reload from back-ups and away you go?

Pretty much.. it depends on when and how it was hacked, and there are several reasons why it isn't "quite" that simple which I wont go into here, but usually the main stumbling block is the "backup"... does it exist? I believe that's what got z4um!
 
Ah OK, a bit like a PC format and reinstall of Windows or something then - if you have a backup it's easy (albeit probably taking days and days to get it back to how it was) but with no backup you're f***ed :thumbsdown:
