So you said you earlier you were still waiting for a response….
Looks like ColinP really re wrote the book on How to Win Friends & Influence People - all whilst spending a Saturday night in front of a PC - calling other people w@nkers ! this time including most BMW drivers, on a BMW focused forum - way to go ! A social life is indeed a wonderful thing.
Recalling an earlier ColinP post that includes the phrase “white English “mail” and don’t cut hair“ – not an alpha male then – more a “post” boy really ? I’m puzzled why being white, English and male is of any consequence to the generally open minded free spirited modern debate we mostly enjoy on here? Some great posts and opinions are expressed by members who are quite probably none of the above.
I’m glad an apology has been made and it’s not been your intention to offend anyone on the forum, though I rather fear you continue to do so – you now repeat that you “hate Audi drivers” somehow suggesting that “hate” is in any way an acceptable view of any group of people, a view which most certainly projects a highly aggressive image that is most unwelcome on our roads whether riding a sports bike, sports car or white van. By all means please feel free to “hate” celery, mustard, cricket, anything yellow or the design, performance or image of Audi cars for example but to “hate” a group of unknown people so identified by the brand of car they drive (regardless of what that brand might be or represent) is frankly unacceptable.
Earlier posts hint at a total lack of respect also for Nissan drivers, TT drivers (all hairdressers in ColinP world) – really ? how long has that outdated term been used to describe anyone in almost any convertible, including of course our much loved Z4s ? Is an original thought or opinion just not an option here ?
Unintentionally I’m sure, but you’ve now included my wife in your ever growing list ( yes a TT driver and most certainly not a hairdresser, who of course do a fine essential job and to whom I mean no disrespect).
Clarkson used your example of Audi drivers years ago whilst giving the RS4 an excellent review and within the expected aura of comic and controversial journalistic effect.
Many of us view this forum as a great place for open minded debate whilst being entirely respectful of other opinions, values and preferences even when they differ significantly from our own whilst accepting a community, online or otherwise needs a broad blend of users from various social groups, ages and even countries.
It’s wonderful we have members here from the US, Canada, Oz, France, Cyprus and no doubt elsewhere – sorry if I’ve failed to name check you. It’s fantastic that some of them even take the time to travel many miles to join us for some jaunts. I believe this forum is no place for such zenophobic attitudes.
Nor is there any need for potential personal insults to those who don’t share narrow minded jaundiced views on such a forum – btw I don’t think I’m old and I’m certainly not grey haired (yet – time will tell us all and I’m sure I’ll look distinguished when it does come) and as I regularly play competitive tennis ( there’s another group you might want to alienate) do some fairly serious mountain biking, play rock guitar etc. I’m pretty sure I’m not “old and infirm” or quite ready for the Stannah stair lift just yet though I note no “old” criteria were identified. I can however laugh at myself and not take most things too seriously.
But as you say sometimes you wish you hadn’t bothered – maybe you were drunk.
So I guess we’ll never be close - but as mentioned at least you have had the courage to make an apology. Others might want the last word on this post – I’d rather leave it at that.
