Never paid attention before but when I had my MOT bmw gave me print out of options fitted and previous work done, and it said my car has M Sport Suspension fitted and that in 2006 the rear spring snapped so both were replaced does it look like they were replaced with standard springs?

Very possibly :? does like slightly higher at the rear
You'l have to take the wheels off & check the serial numbers to confirm

 looks like a tractor!

Sorry, shouldn't laugh but that's terrible, did BMW do it?! Take it back to whatever idiot put them in and ask them if they think it looks right!

You shouldn't have to do anything to it really, let them sort it, despite the time that's passed. Difficult to force them to fix it though...

Lol how did They not realise! And it was a bmw dealer that did at the time.
Spoke to bmw today is £350 fitted or springs £117 each and then I'll fit them.

Newbie question: will this kit work okay with OEM shocks? Will it reduce their lifespan/effectiveness?

Yeah they look like standard springs.

Get some Eibachs fitted - far cheaper than BMW and better warranty.

Eibach springs are designed to work in harmony with OEM shocks.

Not exactly true, they will wear your shocks out quicker but not by a massive amount.

I have a set fitted to uprated bilstein shocks and it lowers the car a bit and improves the ride/handling :)

I can't imagine a pro kit shortening the lift of a set of shock absorbers any more than oem springs, also pretty sure eibach themselves would advise that their springs are designed to work with oem (Sachs) shock absorbers :)

have you fitted these yet?

my car came with m sport as standard but i have since discovered that it has standard springs fittted so looks like its sitting on stilts :(
i have since got some 2nd hand m sport springs off the forum and need to fit them and see what the ride height is like (approx 15mm lower than standard) but am thinking of possibly going lower to say 30mm like the kit you got..... depending on how practical it is etc.

as your only down the road from me would be good to meet up and have a comparison if thats ok? and an excuse to look at each others Zs :P

Interested in a B12 kit Jingle or just springs? The Eibach drop is pretty practical.

well my rear shocks went early this year (broken top mount) so i replaced the shocks for Bilstein B4s (as was told this would be fine for the m sport suspension) then after checking my springs a month or so back and then refitting the rubber feet for the springs i noticed that they were the standard springs. so now im going to refit the m sport springs i have since got so it should be sitting at the original intended height.

once all settled im going to possibly look into a further drop depending on if im happy with the m sport height (and how much extra it will cost for new even lower springs/uprated shocks)

so basically just wanting to see what my m sport height(-15mm from standard) would look like compared to Tom Js eibach set up (-30mm from standard) its hard to judge in my head or from photos, in the flesh side by side would be perfect :D
