We are a small group of villages and the job has never been too onerous. Over the years there have been a few idiots but they tend to come and go. Mostly the meetings have been friendly and productive. What has cheesed me off is the move towards box ticking and the production of copious policies which no-one will ever read and which do nothing to improve the quality of service the council provides. As the years catch up with me my Victor Meldrew tendencies have become more developed and I have little tolerance for some of the jobsworths who reside in the the District Council Offices. Or as wife puts it I’m just a bad tempered old b****r.
