Would you say been lowered

If it helps these are the Z4 e85 ride heights from an on-line workshop manual https://workshop-manuals.com/bmw/z_series_e85/z4_3.0i_m54_roadst/3_technical_data/33__rear_axle/0__general/3_td__rear_axle_ride_height_e85/

Anybody know the spring colour codes? I have still never found a BMW document listing them, lots of posts, lots of conjecture but nothing definitive.

Hard to say, ive looked at the pic a few times. If it has been dropped its only marginal.

With just 16mm difference between standard and sport and a variation of +/- 10mm judging from an image requires super-human powers. Come on OP put us out of our misery, what's the tape measure say? :)

If that is an early car on its original Sachs shocks then they may well be contributing to the low ride height. I have an '03 SE that used to sit very much like yours CHIMV8 until I recently replaced the original and VERY goosed shocks with a set of Bilstein B4s. It now sits 10-15mm higher. Do I care ? No because it handles and rides SO much better.

TBH
No knowledge of the car other than service history and comments from previous owner, and what i am slowly discovering over the last month sine i bought her

Taking in all your comments i have received on various threads, and going to change/upgrade/renew a lot on the car

Rebuilt over a number of years 2 TVR Chimaera's 4.0L and 5.OL and cant leave the itch alone

Never thought i would take to a Z4 but i have to say i love it

Have you a link to the shocks that you mention

They only have 2 sets of fronts and 1 set of rears left so be quick if you're getting some. They went so fast back in March when I got mine.

Much the same as mine at the front. My shocks look original so will be 15 years old now. Have new shock coming in September for a refresh. That may change the height. Surely after 15 years they will have lost a bit of rebound.
Did the replacements change your heights

It did. My 326’s fit perfectly now and don’t rub the wheel arch on any bump while the wheels were turned.
Oh, and it drives better. :D
