Would you buy this 35i?

I'd go for it. 35i with manual is rare.
And then tune it like crazy (n54 engine is fairly easy with tuning). The manual is much easier to tune to insane numbers than the DCT for sure (no dct slippeage).
Manual transmission is also quite a bit lighter.

A fair point, depends on what you want though obviously. It would indeed make a big BHP firebreather, however as a nice 'normal usage' car you can pamper should you wish you'd need to be careful, it's had a hard life, and as the previous post the interior shows signs of careless ownership, and that was over 3yrs ago.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Shows the power of this forum when members actually recognise the car and have in fact viewed it in the past.

I think on balance it's not the right car. It doesn't sound like it's had a very pampered life to me, and you rightly point out all the tell tale indicators of that.

Some questions I still don't think I've found the answer to:

1) Does having sat nav mean you get idrive by default?
2) Does having cruise mean you get cruise with auto brake by default? I assume this is the same as adaptive cruise essentially?

It's always difficult posting things like this, on one hand you don't want to pee on anyone's parade and put them off buying something's they've seen, but on the other the forum is there to help if it can. Comes down to taking all the info in and making your decision.

With regards to your questions:

Yes you get idrive with the nav.
Yes cruise comes with brake function.

The right car will turn up, might take a while but it will.

Best of luck in the search.

The Cruise Control isn't adaptive, what it will do is to apply the brakes to prevent you overspeeding (e.g. going downhill). It doesn't detect cars in front and adjust it's speed.
Cheers, Dave
