Also they wont have far to push it back to you either  I'm not sure I would sell a piece of crap to someone that almost lives around the corner.🤔

Yep the famous Peugeot 'Prince' engine. I don't know why BMW, with their multi-billion euro budget, couldn't make an engine sooner for the Mini. They kept them for 11 years before finally working out how to shoehorn other BMW engines in the pathetic little things.

Not really the same with WBAC. They just park the cars up until a huge transporter comes along once a week and takes them to wherever.

When I sold the Audi with a defective gearbox, I just ticked the faulty gearbox checkbox. Didn’t even reduce the price that much, they only wanted to know if it could be driven to the auction.

I didn't vote because I wouldn't sell a car with a defect to just any trader, but would happily sell to WBAC given how little they tend to pay!

Mrs Tidy's 2006 R56 Cooper needed a new radiator a couple of week ago. But TBF the car is nearly 19 years old so hardly surprising. The new cam-chain last year was much more painful.

first, do unto others as you would have them do unto you and second, karma is a cold hearted bitch.

RIGHT I’m calling misandry….are you suggesting men cant shove a red hot toasting fork up yer jacksie too if you’ve been a shithouse…?? 🤔

Are WBAC going to give you anything meaningful for an old mini anyways? But then again... if you do sell it to them, it may be some time before it's driven for long enough for the issue to come up... especially if you sell it when it's winter and nice and cold...

WBAC are owned by British Car Auctions so they send 99% of their buy in's straight there. From my experience of BCA its mostly trade buyers these days.
I have sold two cars to WBAC, they can spend as long as they want looking at them to find any faults. On both of my cars (an ancient 2.2 Z4 and a nice TDCi Focus Titanium they didn't even start the engine. Bodywork and wheels were all they were interested in.
Motorway are a bit different they buy it from description and photos then inspect the car on collection and transfer the money on the spot. In my case it was a franchised dealer buying stock to resell, better price than WBAC because it didn’t go through auction

Nope it's basically dishonest and fraud. Just because they would do it to you doesn't make right.
Yes this basically, I remember on one of the BMW forums M140i owners modifying/tuning the car whilst still in warranty then needing to put the car in for engine related issues and taking the tune off the car before it went in. I pointed out that's basically fraud, chances are BMW would know anyways if a car has been mapped in its past.

Tim.
