Being in the business of brains and stuff, I know a fair bit about withdrawal effects - both psychological and physical.
Having placed an order for my new Z4, I am now getting withdrawal symptoms, which haven't been ameliorated by buying a miniature version!

Hands in the air those who don't know what this word means :)

I use an on line dictionary - she is just trying to impress us

Being the lawyerly type, I've stumbled across the word once or twice. I use it myself every now and then. Usually only sarcastically, to the other half whilst engaged in philosophical discord adopting a demeanour of lofty distain designed to irritate.

Cant wait to see pics of the car. All I can suggest in the meantime is heavy sedation. I only had to wait 4 days for mycoupe and could barely manage that...

Having been chastised and mocked already, I shall try to avoid any excessively long words in future, unless appropriate to the given context.

Have now handed back the key to the atacama yellow roadster I had on an extended test drive since yesterday afternoon. (I did go past someone in a White roadster in sw London)

It is a gloriously beautiful car that is one of few that can pull off yellow.
Unfortunately it has provoked further doubt about car colour!
I wouldn't go yellow - that is too much attention.
But sorely tempted by red or blue again.
I was also thinking I may need lumbar support and DAB which I haven't specified yet.
No I won't get TV!
The build slot is scheduled for week 25, so Yass tells me colour change shouldn't affect it

Don't take it to heart, we're (I'm) just jealous at not having the neccessary brain power :D

and me being a black owner i would say stay clear of black cos they are a nightmare to keep clean

Try reading the Brochure so much that you can recite it word for word in your sleep, I think there'll be a few on here who can still recall whole passages from the brochure at will. Then when you've achieved that there's youtube for any video of the z4, youll watch the same one time and again under different postings and still enjoy it, then general searches on the interweb, other forums, this forum, re reading your posts and other peoples posts, that'll help with about 48 hours solid, from there on you're on your own :( :)
Not that i went through that process of course .........

Oh in between you can try different images as desktop pics, screen backgrounds on your phone, re read the spec and decide if you should have ordered differently, change your order, check the spec again, change your order, check how long before there really is no going back on changing the order and change it again. Re read the brochure to check you have memorised it correctly, whilst doing that check that you're happy with your order......

Enjoy feelings of enrichment by holding the test drive car hostage until they acquiesce and deliver your space grey Zed tout de suite

PS - Are you a real angel?

My last car was yellow and while it stood out it didn't attract attention (no speeding tickets over 6 years). I found it less "in your face" than the current red zed.

I'd like to retort with a recumbentibus, but fear I may lapse into ultracrepidarianism.

cj_eds, how clever are you with the camera? try holding the model slightly higher and see if you can sit it behind the real car, try and make it look the same size

Not clever enough - it's the kind off thing I was trying to do but ran out of time on that occasion. We've since moved house so don't have such a direct shot anymore. I'll maybe try to do it with the model out in the wild somewhere - it's got the added benefits of not needing to clean cat nose marks off the window too. If it works you'll see it in the photo competition one month with the tag "this one is small, but that one is faaaar away..." :)

Getting the depth of field & correct exposure for both was a nightmare as well, so would be better if the toy one can be more than an arms length away. Would make composing the shot much easier. Again being outside would probably help, no need to worry about the light in the room being completely different to the light levels outside.

3 months to wait,I'd be climbing up the walls having to wait that long.Be confident in your colour and spec choice and plan to do something nice ( ie go away for a few days ) as soon as it arrives so you can bond with it.

Having been literally climbIng up the Walls.... Been on a climbing weekend in N Wales!
But still thinking about car colour
About 57% space grey, 43% deep sea blue at present.

With regards to spec.. I have gone with all options except tv function, cd changer, high beam assist and mobile applications (Facebook, twitter). There is little chance I will suddenly decide to have those.

So the only thing that will change is if I suddenly shift to deep sea blue.

I think it will only need an 8% swing since there were only 2 candidates.
Although granted Red is the possible third party. Yellow, White, black were minority parties that didn't have any realistic option of being elected, they were weeded out using an alternative vote system.
It does assume proportional representation though.

It is possible that blue may hold more safe seats, and the majority of grey are kept in marginal areas that are subject to greater swing.
I think the key constituencies are:
Night time driving
Day light driving
Night time parking
Day light parking
Cool factor
Security
Prettyness -Blue definitely
Eye-turning - Blue
Resale potential (not really a vote generating option)

Then may I suggest this long established and highly recommended decision making machine...

I'd like to put myself forward as a buyer of your car when you decide to sell it in the far, far distant future, Braingirl.

I just want to be able to sit inside and get a buzz from the feeling that a heck of a lot of thought went into it :)

go for something vulgar, just because you can like yellow with the full white leather trim (not that I mind either in isolation).
