Wish List?

Okay so started to look my car … did the plugs and salmon relays the other day, whilst having a look decided to make a list of what’s urgent and get some advice off you guys.

So first is the car is running better plugs have been changed. Had the under tray off and noticed the DCT Pan has the mandatory leak. Is this a job for me ? I am pretty competent with mechanical stuff but with DCT boxes I worry about refilling then correctly? Is this something I could do on a ramp without major issues? Is it a gasket replacement or does the crappy plastic pan need replacing?

Everything else seems tidy. All bushes and suspension look ok. The fuel pump is sounding quite loud on initial pressurisation when opening unlocking car. Is this normal?

Next is my thoughts on swapping out the stock intercooler. I have attached an image of one I am looking at from ML Performance (Wagner). Anyone have experience of these? Should be a easy swap as only 60% bigger core not a competition beast! Are they any good?

Wagner BMW N54 & N55 E82-E93 EVO1 Performance Intercooler (Z4, 1M, 135i & 335i) - ML Performance UK

The above is because I have decided on a MHD map.

Lastly but not least I am considering changing the electronic ignition and am considering the precision raceworks setup.

Sorry but using an iPad to do this and cannot seem to get images to work. So much easier on a PC!

DCT needs ISTA to refill correctly…you could try filling it and re-running it and then refilling it…you don’t want to mess with that baby..

I have the Wagner Evo 1..nice bit of kit..quite heavy…seems to work well enough with MHD in the UK…

I went with the Nexsys B58 coil kit..seemed to be the best around..needs MHD to alter the ignition parameters..

Thanks for the reply. Ordering the Evo1 intercooler tomorrow. The DCT I am with you in not having the level of software to sort refilling, I will speak to local BMW Indy I sometimes use. That leads to whether to upgrade the pan ?
More money!

I had the shallow pan in machined aluminium fitted..the deeper pan needs the under trays to be permanently removed…

Given how many litres are in the system and the fact that the DCT box has a cooler it’s more show than go in a UK climate I suspect..

Just ordered some parts re the DCT. Including new bolts. £336 without the fluid. 8.7 litres (9) bottles. Cheaper to fill it with single malt! Managed to get the item number DCTF 1+ 83-2224466-73 still researching as what a variation on what people want for it.
