Wing mirrors

I shut my drivers door the other night and for some reason the mirror glass fell out and shattered!
Are they all heated?
Where is the best place to buy?

Many thanks :)

Most just buy from fleabay as dealers want stupid money.

I did consider this, but then wondered if they are heated etc?
I can't say I've ever noticed as the Z stays still when its icy, are they auto or is there a button?

Replacement glass from eBay is fine. It's the panel you stick the glass onto that's heated. So cheap replacements do the trick :)

Fantastic, that's what I wanted to know :) thanks mate.

B****y hell. The same thing happened to me this morning. The glass hit the the floor and broke the corner off. :x I've temporary fixed it back with double-sided sticking tape. Need to get a replacement so will try eBay. I put it down to the cold weather.

They are on all the time, you can feel the heat if you put your hand on them.

Very common problem. both of mines have went now but luckily I have noticed them vibrating at speed before they fell off...lol

Hi, whats the best one to buy from ebaY? There seems to be different varients, like - tinted, ones with backing plate, ones that stick actually over the broken mirror? Has anybody bought one - could you send the link?

I brought a stick on one, none tinted, from wingmirrorman based in Bury a couple of weeks ago. Just £10.99 including postage. Just stick on the black heated pad.

This does seem to be the case, but the WDS claims they switch off above 25C, below that, they switch off and on in proportion to temperature until -10C when they are on continuously.

I could swear mine have been on well above 25 though, but it's not like I'm in the habit of feeling up my mirrors. :?

I could check, but it will be a long time before we see 25C in the UK :(

:D Yeah here too! Let's see who gets there first  Been snowing lately, but at least the last couple days it is at least melting when it hits the ground. We're basically going to have to drive elsewhere to experience 25. Or wait until mid-July... maybe. You lot definitely have us beat in the quantity of wet grey days though, so I'm not feeling too bad about simply cool weather :)
