Windows Not Dropping when Opening Doors

I couldn't find any previous posts on this, but one time in 20 my windows wont drop when opening the doors. This means you can't close the door properly as the glass sits over the seal:

It's been to the dealer and they just changed the battery.

I also have possessed windows which always want to go up and down madly when trying to open.
Could this be related?

Anyone else had this?

Hi, could be the micro switch on door or most likely the window memory needs to be reset, press and hold the window button, keep holding the button for 5 secs after it has reached bottom, then wind all the way up, job done

Oh and it happens both sides! And when one side does it, so does the other. So unlikely to be a switch or pair of switches

If the above reset procedure doesnt work, try this one. It was the only one that worked on mine to reset them.

1. Open the window fully and when it had reaches the bottom, press the button a further four times.
2. Then close the window fully and hold the button up for a second or so.
3. Then open the window by approximately four inches, and then closed it again and hold the button for a second again.

Sorry to jump into an old thread, but what was the solution to this? I had a new regulator fitted to the drivers side of my z4c yesterday and now it has a similar problem

You need to do the window reset every time it happens, as for me it was a reoccurring software bug. I don't have a link for it any more but it's the one where you hold the window button down for 10 seconds...
