Something I haven't tried on a E89

My last car failed and I replaced it, the liner simply clipped in so prised out with trim tools. That was an audi though so might be completely different. Sorry I can't help.

Looks like wheel and inner lining removal from looking online

It may be a red herring but it did used to work before the issues, ordered second hand off eBay see how it goes

Well that’s was fun getting to the petrol lock

Wheel liner removed nope also needed to remove petrol cap too :-(

So installed unit unlocks fine, but did not lock
Swapped over to replacement and exactly same :-(

Voltage on open none when locking

Maybe looking like an issue with JBE or fuse box

🧐

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

There is a clue there somewhere, must be related to the window drop

No need to remove handle just the lock barrel
It's held in with a screw hidden behind a rubber grommet in the door opening.

Take note how it fits together, a bit more fiddley than passenger side.

After months of head scratching finally fixed my 9CBC window drop issue

Fuses checked
FRM checked ( second hand one registered, same issue)
Door wire consistency for breaks checked on driver and passenger (and rechecked)
Fuse box out completely and all connections checked
Door locks changed drivers and passenger

Still had the issue

Jbl out, second hand registered still same issue

So thought that the FRM had switched off power due to short circuit

Lots of online research also got a reading from dr.gini that showed faults where originally in door contacts but now fixed

Found a post that suggested to try the below

Problem solved:
the
SNU_TK_ABFRAGE_OHNE_PULSE = aktiv
needed to be:
SNU_TK_ABFRAGE_OHNE_PULSE = nicht_aktiv

Programmed the FRM with the change and it worked !

Windows now dropping and closing ……. 8) :D

Now I’ve just got to solve why my mirrors no longer fold in when locking the car or out when opening

Oh plus an MOT overdue

So was the original FRM faulty and the replacement FRM not from an e89?
Glad you got it sorted and nice of you to update with the fix, that’s what’s great about this forum

Blue Peter badge for perseverance

And as Chippie says good to get the solution posted..

Excellent news, as others have commented understanding the fix and posting the results

I'm assuming someone's previously coded the mirrors to fold when locking?

Mine don't fold until I press the fold button, think that is standard.

Mine used to fold but stopped so presume something in the FRM changed will let you know
