Window regulator fitted, now in reverse?

Can you de-pin the wires in the regulator harness and swap wires or cut the wires upstream of the connector, cross them and re-solder? Is this a BMW part of an Ali-Express version? I'd avoid making wiring changes on the vehicle side of any connectors to avoid confusion if the regulator needs replacement in the future. Basically follow your indications to make this one work since it seems to only impact the regulator on that side.
 
It's from Select automotive a uk company with good reviews not a cheapy, perhaps I'll have a look at these 2 wires down by the speaker and swap over, hopefully that will sort out the anti trap that's also not working having tried the reset to no avail, hopefully the issue is connected.

So I'm still leaning towards a glitch in the GM5. Did you check it for codes?
 
Is the regulator second hand or brand new? I know some companies are making them. If so, there's a chance it could be wrongly assembled.
 
I am not familiar with the E85/6 window mechanisms, but can you:
- remove the motor from the door/new regulator (leaving the regulator in place)
- attach the motor to the old regulator
- test if the old regulator moves in the directions you'd expect?

Then you'll know if it's the motor/wiring or the new regulator itself.
 
Looking at how they are made, there's not much scope to get this wrong - I'd guess it's one cog pulling a cable...

oooooh... looking again... look at that first photo - you can just see the metal wire wrapped around the cog. Maybe the wire is pulling from the wrong side of that cog? Rather than coming from the 'up' direction, it's actually spooled around from the 'down' direction? That would probably explain what you're seeing...

Or if it is a new one, perhaps they've fitted a LH cog by mistake?
