wind deflectors ?

The wind deflector definitely makes a difference being on there!

I did the magic tree test! Hung one on the rear view mirror and without the deflector is flaps about crazy!

Been looking for a deflector for my E89 and I like the look of the OEM one. There a a few around on e-bay but I'm confused over the brackets that are required. I can buy a couple of brackets at £1.59 each plus screws or a set of replacement roll hoop covers for £100 from BMW.

Do the brackets simply screw onto the existing hoops or is the other option to replace the hoop covers?

I screwed straight into the existing roll hoops. Just be careful. I placed some nasking tape in position, assembled the brackets to deflector then placed in position and then draw around the brackets.
Removed the deflector, then placed each bracket in position and mark the holes, centre the holes with something sharp and screwed in.

Remember, measure twice, cut once.

Spot on. Cheers matey

Thing with a Wind deflector is this. If you want dry bright weather, take the wind deflector off the car and put it in the garage.

Really pleased with mine and prefer it to the OEM.

Tim.

I've got the OEM one, and not sure I really notice if it makes a difference to be honest. I think Tim's one is much better looking though!
