Wind Deflector

Sorry, I see.
I fitted the complete kit, c/w with rollover mesh to a friends Zed, and then standing side by side from the back, compared to my car without the mesh, personally, I preferred it 'without the mesh'. It just looked 'a bit cleaner'. Which was why I didn't pursue fitting them to mine.
It is personal preference. So, I can understand your pursuit of finishing it off.

However, having fitted the original's, they are so easy to make yourself. The plastic rollover hoops clam the fabric in place, and the wire frame is only there to keep it taught whilst fitting. So, if you want the 'exact look' then buy the fabric on fleabay, and make your own. A useful lockdown project. All you need is pliers, coat hanger, some fabric from ebay, and glue.

That's a good idea, I think Deepseaskateboard was talking about doing the same. I've got another lockdown project going on at the moment involving my interior trims. That project is a bit time consuming but once I am done with that, I will have another look at this.

ALERT
Someone is selling a Wind Deflector for an E89 on fleabay and it's a good price (not me).
It's a 'buy it now', so be quick.

Happy to help anyone over Zoom on fitting and taking off the hoop covers and drilling holes for fixings.
It's easy for anyone when you know how. PM me.
Steve

There are speculative sellers listing the fixing brackets for extortionate prices too. They are only about £10 a pair brand new.

How do you work out where to drill the holes?

Are there markers on the inside of the hoop cover?

I think that's the one I bought, made him an offer and it's in the post - just hope I'll be able to spot the difference

There aren't any marks inside the silver hoop covers but when you remove the silver covers (the front black covers can remain in place) you will see in the hoop the position of the two screws holes, you can then easily line them up to roughly where the holes should be on the silver covers. Perfect alignment isn't necessary since you can make the holes in the silver covers slightly larger since the holes will be covered by the brackets, just be careful not to make the holes wider than the width of the brackets.

Ok, will check it out. They should be arriving next week.
If looks too complex, I will just get the pre-drilled covers.

If it'll help I'm happy to measure mine and take photos from all angles (my Z4 was supplied with the deflector already specified but it had "disappeared" when I bought it)

That would be great if you would! Thanks :)

Would be a good forum resource actually.

I have managed to source the brackets, hoop inserts and screws.

See pic for part numbers.

Just need three more screw caps, and the actual wind deflector now! Current ebay prices are £165-185... may have to wait a little.

All of the parts so far have cost less than £30 via ebay.

It was just someone selling them on, not a supplier.
If I come across any more, I will post the link tho
