Thanks, much appreciated.GoSteve said:I am selling my Z4 this week. Probably sell the wind deflector separately. I'll let you know.Owdgit said:Thanks, I keep getting outbid on fleabay, usually in the last couple of seconds.
Otherwise, expect to pay up to £110 in mint condition with the bag. No need to pay more.
I think I actually bought mine off Gumtree a couple of years ago.
Good place to check too.
Doesn't look like it. If you look a few posts up there are members who have retrofitted it and it seems pretty straightforward, unlike the E85's which were guaranteed to snap clips when separating the roll hoop covers :xDeepseaskateboard said:Do all the roll hoops have the attachments for the inner hoop mesh, or would the roll hoop covers with the holes only have these attachment points?
Presumably they are all the same plastic moulding?

I found the left and right hoop mesh parts for £177 each on ebay + postage!
I will be sourcing some mesh fabric and making these myself.

Just wondering, as it is shielded by the headrests anyway.

I’ve not tried without the hoop mesh fitted but I’d guess every little helps, the headrests are in front but they won’t stop the turbulent air from going round the sides & into the cabin :?

177 each? I really don't understand the mentality of some these sellers, they are 'only' around 100 GBP each brand new from BMW. Second hand they shouldn't really be anymore than 20 or 30 GBP! I found a breaker here in Spain who wanted 70€ each needless to say the hunt still goes on.

It is madness, it just looks like fabric attached to a wire assembly which clips in.
My plan is to fabricate some by sourcing mesh fabric and putting in eyelets. Since the fabric attachment is not visible it should look the same as oem, or close to.

If you can do that it certainly would be interesting and way cheaper. If I remember correctly there is someone on fleabay selling the mesh fabric. Just do a search for E89 Z4 wind deflector and it should come up.

Read my comments earlier in this thread.
The bits that fit on the rollover hoops are less than £10 for both from a main dealer, and the fixings under the hoops are standard on ALL Z4's whether you have the hoop or not.
So all you need is a wind deflector, and the fixing brackets.
The fixing brackets are about £10 the pair, including all the screws etc. That's it.
PLUS, The mesh parts are not very expensive from the main dealer direct.
You don't need them, they are virtually cosmetic. I have experimented with and without them.
I would challenge anyone to spot the difference. If anything, I felt the turbulence was less WITHOUT the mesh.
