why the hell buy a roadster/drop top?

God you lot can't help yourselves can you! Even when you're purportedly getting the thread back on track!! :)

As someone who has owned both this all gets remarkably tedious.

Back to the original point - if you are never going to drop the roof there is no point. When I owned mine it used to be down when the temperature was circa 15-27 degrees celsius. Anything colder than that or warmer I didn't bother. If the ex-Mrs OG was in the car we very rarely had the roof down despite her having scrunchies and a hairbrush in the glove compartment.

Well said - this was just getting back to pointless jibes.

I really dont see the need to have a roadster in the UK

If it was sunny here 85% of the time instead of 15% maybe
If it didnt come with such attached mindsets as womens cars, midlife crisis, shopping trollies, men lacking foliage, etc maybe
If it was called something much cooler than "roadster or soft-top" maybe.

Because its only sunny 15% of the time we have to make the most of it! I read that the UK has the highest Convertable sales of Europe and I can understand why!

As for your other 2 points, why are you so bothered about what other people think? :poke:

I am not getting into the roadster vs coupe thing, not interested, both very similar nice cars and each to their own :driving:

I guess this guy has never tried winter driving with the heated seats on? In some way I much prefer driving with the roof down on a sunnies winter day

Bobble hat anyone?
