Why De-badge?

As said gives a cleaner look i do not like to much going on badges everywhere and i hate dealer stickers

It surprises me to see a dealer sticker. I can't believe a dealer would do that to a car. I would never buy from a dealer who did that.

Had one in the rear screen but my niece bought a used Corsa they put on on the tailgate :x easily removed with a hairdryer.

mine was debadged before i got it, just has the bmw badges, the z4 & 2.5 has been taken off - to be honest i prefer it without, as mentioned cleaner lines, plus why do you need to advertise what engine you have? and its pretty obvious its a z4, as there is only a roadster and coupe!

Interesting comments abouts the badging, i left my 3.0i side badges on for one reason, so when the people at work refer to it as a hairdressers car (which they do on a daily basis) the fact that it says 3.0i on the side always shuts them up once they see it.

That and the fact i wouldnt want it confused with a 2.0 :poke:

when you start it up and speed towards the sunset im sure they will know its no hairdresser mobile, my mates say the same thing but they all wanted to come see it / have a ride in it when i got mine.

I think the 3 'M' badges look crap on my car so I've binned the side ones. They look like an afterthought by BMW who wouldn't go to the expense of having a Z4M badge made. If my car was black or white I might have left them on the car as the colours blend better with 'M' badges.

I tend to agree, I'm quite happy with how BMW made it look in the first place, not really into 'mods' tbh

Ahem!! Your signature!!

"Z4M Coupe Interlagos Blue with Black Full Nappa leather. CD Changer, Folding Mirrors, Hi-Fi Sys Prof DSP, Individual Piano Black trim, PDC, Sun Protection Glass. Added ZHP Gear Knob."

:P

Well spotted! I meant 'mods' for looks alone, that was for practicality and driving purposes only :D

Hi everyone,

(First post!) Is de-badging a BMW option? I bought a 3.0si sport last weekend in carbon black and only noticed yesterday when giving it it's first proper clean and polish that it had no badges. The car was a demonstrator so I'm the first one to get my grubby mitts on it so it wasn't the previous owner (unless the dealer did it).

Cheers!

Removed the side badges on mine today. I think it looks better without them, and i like the fact other drivers dont know what size engine is under the bonnet. Keep em guessing until the throttle is floored! Dont mess with a debadger! :P

But don't people automatically assume the smallest engine when they see a debadged car?

Unfortunatly one 3.0 badge came off while washing the car (stupid Vegas heat) so I took the other side off too.

Let the assume! Best piece of advice given to me was to NEVER assume anything, as by breaking the word up this makes an ASS of U and ME :P

Thats what I assume. To me it's people trying to hide their engine size. Which is why I hate not having mine on. Hmmm maybe that's why ricer wannabee's stopped trying to race me. I never thought to put the two events together.

When I took my Z4 Coupe to work for the first time, a couple of guys said "That's really nice. A lot better than the hairdresser version!" :poke: :fuelfire: :P

Had another look at the Z4 this morning. Still don't know whether to take the Z4 off the back or not! :?

I'll leave the 3.0si on the sides though.

Well, I went ahead and de-badged the rear of the car this afternoon. Z4 badge has gone. Quite easy to get off!
Now I've done it, with the diffuser fitted it looks somehow sharper! Looks good on the coupe as it equals out the rear hatch, having the Z4 on one side (no rear door lock showing on the coupe) sort of unevened the look. :D
