Who's buying

Is anyone buying or ordering one of the new Z4's? I recently purchased my 2006 Z4 (lease end) rather then lease or purchase the 2009. I hate to say it but I think the new Z4 will be a very slooow seller! I have not seen much posted of people buying the new model.

go to e89 post.. you ll see, and also car has officially not reached the dealers which explain why you dont see many mentions of owners

I think the new car will do fine, but I expect it will appeal more to different audience than the previous generation. They seem to be aiming for a market that's older, more luxury-oriented than sporting, and a bit wealthier.

Lets hope for a Z2 or something.
Dealers told me it is the first time BMW have offically mentioned aiming at a target market (Merc SLK). I hope BMW also offer something for those wanting somethjing a little smaller, lighter, more sporty and hardcore (or minimalist)

I love my Mk1 Z4M too much - I can't see me opting for the new one. Initial impressions don't lead me to think there's anything that it will deliver on that I don't get from my current car. Coupled with the money I've spent on mine to tailor it to do what I want, it doesn't make sense to get the new model.

If I were to spend that sort of money (that I expect a high-end, or future Z4M would cost), I think I'd be looking to spend more and go further "up the ladder" so to speak, into something more exotic, and/or completely different.

Anybody is wealthier than I am thanks to the stock market. :( :x

Tell me about it. I own RBS shares  although I thank myself so much that I sold most of my holdings in banks a while before the banks imploded. Luckily I bought a few barclays near the low but now it`s knowing when to ditch them....is this just a brief recovery or is barclays in a bull market rally.

I had a good look round it today, it is better in the flesh than the pictures - and seems very nice when fully loaded.

It is definitely a step away from the E85 towards the SLK, so it depends if you want a good all-year all-rounder, or a weekend more 'raw' toy. If you can call the E85 'raw' that is (well the suspension certainly is).

The canadian pricing has been release by BMW. The sDrive35i starts at CAD 64K. Fully loaded, it is CAD 71.5K. I just bought an E90 ///M3 for CAD 77K. It's a difficult case to make for a two-seater with limited trunk space and about 5 days of top down good weather per year. It's a rather expensive third car IMO. It's lovely however.

IMHO BMW has taken this car in the wrong direction

The 'classic' Z4 was just the right mix performance, style, luxury, and price in a truly unique package. The new Z4 misses that mark for me.

But I still like the look of the new Z4. I will give up little performance for more stylish design and RHT. :) The front end is just 200% better than the current model, i.e. double-ring headlights, front air dam, kidney grille.

Hits the spot for me, I think I see one in my future, not immediate though. This time next year maybe, funds permitting.

Thing is, for all you guys that don't like it, what else would you get? The current Z4 is/was quite unique in the price range, especially for used ones. 370Z is the spiritual successor I think, but only to the coupe, the the 370Z roadster is too fugly.

Probably only you and me like the new Z4. I always like shape of SLK (Mk2) with AMG bodykit, but I just don't like the Mercedes badge. :) I will definitely buy the new Z4 without trying it if I have the cash.

if i dont like the new one ill stick with mine and when the time cums to change ill move into a z4mr!
