Who's buying

The new Z4 is so beautiful to look from every angle. White Z4 looks great (and save money for going non-metallic paint). But I still prefer Titanium Silver or Blue Sea Blue. Actually the Pure White Pack is great. :)

Careful not to scratch the 19" wheels when moving the car off the pavement. I will never park my car like that.

He dares to park close to that corner ...

Saw a new one at the dealer yesterday, nicer interior then the current Z but the rear is a bit too much Z3 for me.

Hartge aftermarket ones. I prefer the style 296 by far.

I either have standard Star-spoke 290 (17") or Multi-spoke 293 (18"). I am worried about the potential corrosion on V-spoke 294 (18"). V-spoke 296 (19") looks very nice but tyres are too expensive to replace.

For me the 19s make the car, they look so much better than the other wheels. That's the good thing about the SLK,with the design of it, it looks pretty good on 17" wheels. 30 profile tyres on the rear 19s might be too much though.

I will be happy with a Deep Sea Blue 23i with manual box, adaptive sport suspension, sports seats, black leather and 18" multi-spoke wheels. It is actually my desktop wallpaper. :)

Yeah sports seats are a must I reckon. The bolsters are electrically adjustable on them, wonder if you need electric seats for that to happen?

First white one looks really nice, the silver one is okay but not so sure about the wheels and I don`t like the wheels on the second white car that was posted. The 'old' Z4 is my preference however but would prefer the new Z4 over other similar new cars. If they build a lightweight CSL hardcore version preferably in Coupe form in the future I could be interested. Right now though I`d rather pick up an end of line 3.0 or ///M of the 'old' model, or I`d just rather keep mine for another 3 - 4 years.

If it follows other current models - then no. I have manual sports seats in my 3 series and they have the adjustable bolsters (I think they are actually inflatable - they sound like a bag is being inflated / deflated in use). They are superb by the way!

Thing is, for all you guys that don't like it, what else would you get? The current Z4 is/was quite unique in the price range, especially for used ones. 370Z is the spiritual successor I think, but only to the coupe, the the 370Z roadster is too fugly.

If I didn't have my M Coupe and were shopping now, I've get the new Cayman S. I chose the Z4MC over last time it because the pre-facelift Cayman was under 300hp, had no limited slip diff option, and the engines were still prone to the RMS/IMS issues; all of those have been resolved with the facelift, so my Z4MC's remaining advantage is that it looks a lot better.

I think the M has other advantages.

You`re right though, the Cayman S would have to be the Coupe of choice if buying new now. The new S engine is plenty economical and powerful. If BMW make a new Z4 Coupe I`m not sure how much appeal that will have to current Coupe owners knowing that the original target market of the new Z4 was the SLK. I mean a new Z4 Coupe might not be in the same market as the Cayman, but the old Z4 Coupe was a direct competitor to the Cayman.
