Well...am I newbie? yeah, kinda :D

I'm hoping there are a few of the old z4 originals around as I have no idea what forum to find anyone on these days but I see a few names I recognise ( bribes to keep quiet will be accepted  ). I've been awol for a fair while so apologies to those I've not talked to lately, Happy Christmas/Chanukah/Ramadan/Birthday one and all!

Time for a blast from the past for those who remember...and those who don't but love Zeddy pics. I *think* this was The Big Cheese weekend around 2006?

miss mosh, welcome to the forum...
And yes I remember you from the old z4um.
I remember the "Big Cheese Weekend" and have a copy of the video by jules75 from that event.
Nice to see you haven't changed your avatar...

Hey Miss T, great to see you back. About time you got rid of that little horror

Are you back in the fold?

That was indeed the Cheese where I failed to rip your vent out :D

Hello and welcome from someone who never found the old z4um
Didn't realise there was a predecessor to z4-forum either, but that was probably before my Z4 ownership time

Welcome, looks like you're going to fit in here anyway judging by that first post :D

A little history lesson.... :smart:

Pryor to this forum there was a z4um.com which started in 2003. miss mosh was a very prominent active member of that forum and was also one of the mods if not an admin. Without warning on a Sunday morning in April of 2007 z4um.com quit working. The owner of that forum had moved on to another car and left the forum to be run by the mods/admins. The owner of z4um despite requests from qualified individuals failed to turnover the necessary access rights to the server to fix/repair what was wrong. Maybe it was beyond repair and there were no backups...I don't know but the forum died and all the years of knowledge that was recorded with it were lost as well.

For those of us that were regulars on the forum it left a big hole in our lives. Then in June of 2007 sp3ctre stepped forward and started this forum...

If you click on the members tab which sort by join date most of those that joined this forum in the first few months were refugees from z4um.com.

If I remember correctly, Miss Mosh had the first "tiddler" (2.2i engined Z4). :D
I remember it that way as well but if we are wrong miss mosh will likely make us stand in the corner.... :(
or worse... :telloff:

Well, what a nice welcome!!!

Hey WLH! Old avatars never die do they? Funnily enough, I was having a spring clean and found the dvd that Jules made at the Wales meets in 04/05, I still have all the music from it on a playlist in the car :driving:

Hey, this is a car forum.
We don't sell shoes here. :)

Hey you :D Shoes and cars on one site, one day, mark my words....

Welcome! I also remember you from the original forum. What are you driving these days?

Hi Z4 Beemer. LTNS! I'm driving something with 4 seats and a roof at the moment after selling my boy a while back in a fit of being sensible. We'll gloss over that and simply refer to the current vehicle as "it who shall not be named" . You're right about the Tiddler (it's the black one in the pic I posted), I had one of the first 2.2i as did Electric Warrior, I can recall a long running debate on an ever older forum that I forget the name of about how the tiddler would devalue the brand and how terrible it was :slappy:

Dutchie, lovely to see you about!!! See above, every time I get into "it who shall not be named" I yearn for the ability to put the roof down and the excitement of wondering if I'll arrive at the office with the fuel filler cap and rear springs still attached! I may well be back in the fold properly soon :driving:

lamlp640, gannet, Lucy, RustyZ4, a11y, paddy and GAZA62 - thanks for the welcome, great to see that the Z family is still growing! In the words of another Z owner from way back when, I hope you drive it like ya stole it!
