Who has an M Brochure - if not anyone got a question?

ZermattV

Aberdeenshire
Picked myself up an M Brochure this weekend from ebay- who else has one of these -

I was most interested to see the colours listed being only 8

Imola Red
Alpine White
Interlagos Blue
Sepang Bronze
Titanium Silver
Black Sapphire
Silver Grey
Monaco Blue

So the others must have been individual choices (Carbon Black, Ruby Black)

Am I right in saying that if the colour is called after a racetrack it's an M Specific colour?

The Interlagos does not look like Interlagos in the photos and is fitted with an Alu dash!

If anyone wants something checking out - let me know I'll have a read through

I have the brochures as I ordered from it at the time.

Agreed on Interlagos though, I saw the brochure and really liked the colour. When I saw it in the flesh I was not keen on the purple look of it.

What most people don't know either was that after the launch (few months later), there was a £1000 discount if you ordered the Interlagos as there were too many on the boats already they wanted to get rid off.

I think that in many respects, Interlagos works bit like the old Montreal blue on Z3s. in evening sunshine it looks a 'real blue' but in normal daylight the red (and therefore purple) shows. Montreal was the same.

Why does everyone have such a big down on Interlagos and the aluminium dash :? :? .

I like the ali dash in a car with black leather as it brightens the interior up quite a bit, black leather seats, black leather dash = a really dull place to sit.

As for the interlagos I rest my case.See below

Hi mate - I think the Alu dash comes from it being fitted in the Std car - if the carbon was in the std car everyone would want the Alu dash in the M .

I think Interlagos is pretty popular these days - probably second to Imola- but I'd heard that it struggle to sell at first .

Great Photos

Cheers, car is still in my garage but think Garry will be taking it away this weekend      .Just waiting on the amended mot and tax disc returning.

Hope it gets lost forever   .

Interlagos has grown on me - still really like that one on AT with the black wheels

However, after IMmie I'd have ZermattV's any day of the week. Really is a rare colour combo... Which is weird given how gorgeous it is.

As for the c/f dash... For me, with an alu dash on my 3.0, I'd discard an M without c/f.

cheers-.You know I doubt I'd have even gone to see it , if I hadn't seen an Alpina in the same combo in the same week. I also posted the advert to A11y and Adam who reckoned it looked great. TBH I was looking for a Imola or Interlagos.

I don't think I've seen another in the roadster - which is odd considering how popular silver/ red interior boxters are and SLKs. I think as it was a popular choice on 3.0s people wanted something different.

I think I've seen one other roadster, and I'm pretty sure it was flimper spec'd. You're a lucky man - and it makes you look a lot more attractive than you actually are :P

(Should be said, that probably goes for most of us in any of our cars  )

Interlagos is great to live with. Changes colour in different lights - sometimes more blue or purple depending. Think im right in saying that a lot of the Interlagos Ms were demo cars at launch.

That is right, the Interlagos was the launch car and that is why they flooded the market with them at the time causing the major surplus at the time (and hence the extra discount if you were ordering one). That would have caused a lot of people to back off at the time so that the overall total is no longer the majority in total built numbers.

I really wanted my M3 in interlargos & I think its a lovely colour but I do agree its far from universally liked but I am a sucker for a blue car generally so I suppose I am a little biased.

I have the zed brochure as I am a little sad & have to own every brochure of all the cars I have owned  interlargos does look ace in the brochure that's for sure.

I need a book case for my brochures :D

I do occasionally look at the old one, I really like my Golf 16V brochure as it was so much nicer than the normal Golf (which I had before so had the standard brochure as well).

Usually a brochure for everything I've bough but tend not to keep them once the car has gone.

In the 80s I used to collect them a bit- had quite a few Rolls Royce ones as I was at school in the Crewe Area .... And got rid of them as I got older  they would be worth punting on ebay now.

That does sound similar to me & I have a BMW brochure for pretty much all the models as I do respect the marque in general but I also have the brochure for my old sierra xr4x4 & 200sx its just a habit I have got into!

As you say though its rare you actually dig them out & look at them but its nice to know you have them.

I did the clever thing and left them at my parents place in NL. They still ask me each time I come there when I am going to take them with me :D
