Whining noise

Hi guys,

I've tried having a search round the forum but came up short with this one.

I think it's only started to happen since putting in an aux cable but I have noticed a sort of whining noise whilst the aux mode is on whilst the music volume is low or paused. I should say this happens when the cable is plugged into the ipod as well as when its not.

It gets higher in pitch/volume when I press the accelerator whilst the car is stationary as well as when in 1st gear. Any higher gear and its disappears.

I was thinking I should just take out the aux cable and check to see if the noise is present. Or maybe its nothing to do with the damn thing!!?

Any thoughts?

Cheers guys!

Try removing the AUX to confirm, but it sounds like electrical interference from somewhere e.g. ignition, alternator, injection etc. The cable can still pick up and induce interference as long as it's plugged in to your unit - a suppressed 'noise reducing' AUX cable like the Kensington may help.

I had a whining noise in my zed the other week, turns out it was just my mum sat next to me whining at me to slow down - have you checked to see if it's the same for you?
