Thinking it's time to buy a pressure washer instead of always borrowing my Neighbours

Small bit of research suggests that Karcher is the make to go for for value for £££
However Which one, I will be using for more than just the car, I have a large decking area and my mono block drive that both need doing,
I fancy this one

Anyone got one or recommend any others.

Wouldn't use karcher, wasn't impressed with build quality etc. Bought a bosch and haven't looked back....

Had a Bosch the soap dispenser sprang a leak and killed the motor, now have a Karcher which has so performed faultlessly.
Looks Ok to me mate, however I have the patio cleaner and found it to be pretty useless and just using the jet is far more effective.

What about this?

Ive got one and love it had it 5 years been awesome! Cant think of the model off hand but i remember buying the most expensive one.

I've been wondering about buying. Half of the people hate Karcher and love Nilfisk and vice versa. So I'm at a loss. Over on DW the car washing guide suggests you shouldn't use a pressure washer but I take that with a pinch of salt because half of their write-ups feature snow foaming which is pressure washer applied and rinsed.

Decided not to bother for the time being and bought a DA polisher instead!

Had my Karcher for about 8yrs , my father's is probably 10 yrs + . No problems with either.
Have both patio cleaning unit, and turbo lance, as included with Nosa's - they both work well.
Looks like a good deal - go for it.

Nilfisk E130 or E140 would be better, they have metal pump bodies where as most Karchers have plastic ones.

A visit to DW will help with your research.

I have a E130 now after my Karcher wouldn't produce sufficient snow foam.

I have the "old" Karcher professional which was all metal, and is now coming up to 15 years old and working great. I don't think the low level consumer level new ones are that great as there is a lot of plastic in them now.

The professional series still look great, and the new hose roll system looks great as that is a major pain for storing (problem I have ...).

Attachments are great as well for Karcher, the snow foam, the chassis cleaner I have now, the patio cleaner and the list for Karcher goes on and on.

I've had a couple of jet washes over the years and the thing that winds me up is having to deal with the water hose, the power lead and the wand hose all getting tangled up, trying to pull them all around the car :headbang: :headbang:

However I see something on QVC today that had my car not just been bleeding my wallet dry I would have got. Its a battery powered, rechargeable jet wash 8) It even has its own water tank (17l) so you don't even have to have a water hose 8) 8) Its mains rechargeable but can be powered from the cigarette lighter.

On QVC it was £145 inc delivery, the website has them for £149. Its called a Mobi V17 if I remember correctly.

Might be worth considering?

Isn't a pressure washer a bloke cleaning his car with his missus wanting to go out for a Sunday afternoon drive?

Thought it was the bloke doing the dishes in a rushed method before spending the afternoon with the car.

I have the 411A:

Karcher K411A Pressure Washer Specifications
120 Bar Max Pressure
340 liters per hour water flow
1700w long life induction motor
Long 6m high pressure hose for a greater cleaning radius
Trigger Gun Handle and Two-Way Lance

And it does a mighty fine job! Had it for over 10 years, used it on all 4 cars in the household several times a year each..

I realise its now out of date but im sure you can get something equivalent from todays Karcher line up.

Other way round for me, had a Karcher, not sure of model number but cost just over £200 so not a cheap one. It lasted 14 months, then seal broke (I *think* it was caused by expanding frozen water in the reservoir as it coincided with a heavy frost), and motor was killed. Bosch (cost around £250) has lasted 3 years, no issues, still works faultlessly. Fantastic with a snow lance.... don't bother with patio cleaners.

Father-in-law has a £70 one from B&Q, worked fine for 5 years.... go figure. :?
