Which is the COOLEST colour on a z4m

Haha good one! It is a BMW OEM part after all.. Think it looks good, enhances the lines from the bonnet to the roof to the rear.

Thanks for the Chav comment! and far too much money! Really productive and very very hurtful!

I'm sorry, as I have no idea who or how old you are, what your taste in jewellery is and how much money you have, it was a general statement about people who think spoilers look cool and not a personal dig at you......

Spoilers after all, do not actuall achieve any performance advantage on most cars, even an M, so it's just a visual thing and therefore what's the point. Modifications to a car should make it perform better and It could be argued that adding a spoiler actually reduces the performance of the car.

Now Now girls  ....But i do agree with your post...perhaps taken the wrong way

I have no problem with opinions and welcome them its just bad statements

But thank you for clarification

At the end of the day if we all had the same tastes it would be a boring world.

But in my case the spoiler was already installed! But I wanted one anyway think they look awesome, ads to the visual aesthetic of the car IMO

Spoilers are an interesting point. I would never add one to any car but if all goes to plan my next car will be a 997 GT3 which of course has a stonking great spoiler as standard !

It's all about keeping it OEM in my book. If it comes with one then excellent, if not then fitting one is a no, no, whether it's carbon fibre of not.

There is an exception though and that is the Cayman R. I'd order one (in my other life) without the rear spoiler as I think they look way better that way.

997 GT3 - a popular target upgrade for Z4MC owners for sure. How much are they these days, given 996 GT3s are in the £30-£40k bracket?

tut tut tut
I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions. What's the matter? Oh, you were finished! Well, allow me to retort. What is the hottest colour on a Z4M AND WHY
Next we will be talking about er er erm mmm oyeah the colour of your oil out the sump and what it tastes like :poke:

I agree with 'spoilers' like shopping cart style (except where they belong). But the carbon lip is quite subtle I think especially on dark cars, I also love the version for the E92 M3 had one on my dads old one.

The GT3s are very cool, which version are you going for? GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0 the new beast!!

Tbh I love the 996 GT3 and the prices are reflecting the market atm. It is an appreciating classic, they were a lot lower but now a good one is pushing into 997 Turbo prices! Been trying to convince my dad to upgrade from his 997 CS!

Sorry for the off convo OP but there are lots of colours! The Zd is def a car that looks good in most of them! What do you think so far?

well i think the silver grey or space grey is the best colour and the one i have my eye on is silver grey.but the reason i started this thread is has any one thought maybe i should have had a different colour than the one i bought, because when i see the fab pics posted on here it makes it a little harder for me to stay with the colour of my choice,

It's irrelevant since there is no duff Z4MC colour. There are opinions but even Phoenix Yellow cars (available on an M?) have their fans so anything will shift come re-sale time. There's a theory that Imola Red and Interlagos Blue command less, but really it's all talk. Buy on condition, history and the seller.

Of course if you don't have sat nav etc, etc....

I'll be looking to pick up a nice 997.1 GT3 (not an RS) in 18 months to 2 years time. I'm hoping they'll be down around the £40k-£45k mark by then. They are starting to fall in value now, Gen 2 was quite a step up and 991 version will be out by 2013. Very nice ones are becoming available in the mid-£50's now routinely and there is a 15k mileage one on Pistonheads for £47k at the moment. The nice dealer cars are around the £60k mark at present.

This Main Dealer one I am particularly fond of...

The performance differential between this guy in his GT3, and me in the ///MC wasn't much... In fact, I'm in front of him in this picture because I'd nailed him a couple of corners back... :D

I was carrying a bit too much speed here and I rather oversailed the apex  That said, he hasn't even started turning in for the corner yet...

Nice to see you upholding Z4MC honours!! :driving:

There isn't a massive jump in performance but the 997.1 GT3 will do around 4.2s to 60 and 9s to 100 so there is quite a reasonable jump. In the gears though the GT3 is quite highly geared so that might erode some of the difference. I look at it as the unofficial big brother to the Z4MC - NA, high revving 6 cylinder with manual gearbox and a niche model within a larger range.

Z4 coupes look great in every colour but they do suit CSLs more than the roadster and if I was stupid enough to want one :) I'd have black or imola red.

Gray is for John Major wannabes and silver is sooooooo last year :D

I really like that :o Its a bit like some of the other Bmw individual colours! You do pay a big premium to be exclusive!! Nice

I no im in the minority here, but I think there is a reason why there are so few Sepang coloured Zds because its nasty not because its individual just as bad as Phoenix yellow. Grim colours IMO.
