Where is my z4m coupe built

Interesting thread.

Especially for someone from the US.

Man, a lot of hostility toward US. It's a shame.

I really like the Z4M, regardless of where it's made.

It's not just towards the US. I think it's simply because it's not made in the fatherland.

If it had been made in the UK, I probably wouldn't have bought one :P

Any car made in a country other than where it is supposed to be made will always get this sort of response. Would you buy a Morgan made in Malaysia (if it wasn't for the Malaysian market), or a Ferrari not made in Maranello. Part of what you're buying is the heritage, and that heritage includes the original country of manufacture.

It's not that any non-original country will do anything particularly wrong, but it seems in some cases that if you're given a tolerance to work to then the worker will work to that tolerance and no more, whereas you have an feeling that the home-grown workers will also take a bit more pride in what they're doing and work to a tighter tolerance they've set themselves.

Love the old myth that stuff made in Germany is ALWAYS great and everything else is crap. I had a bunch of student friends who worked at MB during the big summer holidays. You really, and I mean really don't want a German car made in July/August. Then again, the Z4MC's overal built quality leaves something to be desired when compared to my E39 540i Touring, but so does a 996...

well i have just read the first 2 pages of this forum, in conclusion:

car was built in US
Smokin is female (probably most interesting of the 2 facts hehe)
