I expect this has been covered a few times but.....
My 2003 E85 has 108's on it. Im not the weathiest man in the world. So, what are your recommendations for budget aftermarket wheels?
Please feel free to help me out by posting pics.
Cheers all.

Keep an eye out on the classifieds on here, bargains pop up all the time
Otherwise for new wheels many on the forum use bmautosport and cmwheels I think, never personally used them though
I'm waiting until my wallet fills up a bit and someone sells some mv3s with tyres on here 8)

That advert "ben g" has posted a link to shows you what can come up on here. I've bought and sold a couple of sets through the forum (including the sale of my 108s) although others have bought and sold dozens of them!

I also found a set of 17s for my E91 on Gumtree for less than £200 with Pirelli tyres (even if 1 did have a puncture), and some CSL reps on another forum. And I'm sure you could find some on ebay.

The bonus with buying that way is you often get tyres on them too, whereas if you buy new rims tyres will be extra!

Good luck finding some you like.

Take your pick and remember they offer forum discount.

Hi Dave,

I have a set of MV2 replica wheels, fully refurbished, that I was just about to post in the classifieds. Your tyres on the 108s will transfer straight over to them. Was going to look for £300 given they are like new, but open to offers. Let me know if you'd be interested and I'll happily give you first refusal. Otherwise I was going to post them up this weekend.

Hi mate. I am really looking at non BMW OEM style wheels but thanks anyway. Appreciate it.

Why would you remove a set of high quality BBS made 2 piece split rims and replace them with some cheap shite?

I'd refurb the 108s and leave the cheap nasty aftermarket stuff well alone.

I did originally type 'whats wrong with 108's?' I think they're a great looking wheel, but they cost a bomb to refurbish and the bolt recesses collect dirt and brake dust like crazy.

108s are pretty divisive. I think they look shite personally and would swap to something else

I liked the fact that they just had the 5 spokes, but all those bolt-heads made them look a bit too "busy" for my liking.

Yeah i agree. I think they also date the car somewhat. The body style is, in my opinion, timeless. Just needs more modern wheels.

That’s a pretty fair shout when you think about it. What he said!

I see what you are saying. I am not getting rid of the 108s. They will be refurbed at some point and put away for safe keeping. But hey, as its my only car and daily transport, and you cant drive without em, it cant hurt to try another set of wheels.

I like the 108’s. They’re my favourite Z4 wheel... not counting the 224’s. Only issue is the corrosion.

I’d be tempted by a set of 32’s myself. Like to see what sort of difference a light weight wheel makes... if I can even tell in the first place!
