Wheel refurb advice

Well got a tax rebate so decided to refurb all 4 wheels. One has a hairline crack that loses air so will be getting welded, all four would benefit from painting. When I swapped from RFTs the bloke said the wheels were slightly buckled but they all still balanced and that was around two years ago with no adverse effects since. I have been quoted:

£65 for the crack a buckle is also £65 paint prices below.
We offer a factory refurbishment using powder coat or wet spray price options as follows -
Powder coat acid dip and blasted wheels only £220
Powder coat acid dip and blasted wheels with tires £240
Powder coat acid dip and blasted wheels with tires and balanced £300
Powder coat acid dip and blasted with wheels and vehicle left stored £330 you can drive your vehicle into us at Heckmondwike.
For wet spray is additional £40.00 for each service.

My question is it worth sorting the buckles if it balances and never presents a problem? Do these prices seem reasonable? If I were to all the wet paint, mild buckles, weld one wheel and leave over night it would be almost £700.
Cheers

Those prices look ok if the place has a decent rep. For £700 you could probably buy a full set of wheels and tyres in decent nick.

As above you could get brand new wheels for less
Not a set of 107s. Had my car from near new and want it to stay OEM, for the age of the car a full refurb is not an unexpected cost- just don't want to over pay or bother doing buckles if they don't need doing.

It is definitely worth fixing the buckles, assuming they are genuine. You have tyre fit and the integrity of the wheel (which relies on it being the right shape) to worry about, not just whether it balances.

I'd go for the powder coat as well. Just get them to show you a wheel first that's had the same coating - main risk is that it won't match the OEM colour.

If you're near Bradford, visit these guys http://www.cascoatings.com. I was highly recommended these so plan on booking my 108's in over winter after seeing examples of their work.

Price wise for a full refurb its £1 per inch + VAT they'll also point you in the right direction of welding if they do not do it

Understand now
Get them sorted fully, if keeping OEM , if you ever lose a balance weight , its instant issues

The welding & straightening seems dear there ?
Guy i use charges £25 for either & does a fine job , the weld once finished & painted is barely even noticeable
Id say £200 or there abouts is a fair figure to fully refurb 4 alloys given bare , will probably coast around £50 for tyres off / tyres on + balance

Cas coatings are good & give a quick turnaround but the prices are "from" £1 for a basic non gloss & the decent finishes are £1.50 / £2 + vat

We have a really good place near to me JP ALLOYS. I am going to get mine refurbished in the spring with them. They did great job of one of my Diamond cut 19 inch AMG wheels off my E Class The cost was £71
