to be honest iv never really been on pistonheads so i would have never known. this is the only forum i go on.

No, South Shields College - I'm at the Marine College doing my Chief Engineers Exams.

I can vouch for The Wheel Specialist in Notts (they are nationwide), had my 18" ellipsoid done in flash chrome for £340 and they did a fantastic job. They were really badly kerbed and in a right old state but now look factory fresh. Dropped car off in morning and picked it up in afternoon - job done. Brilliant! Finished with carbon fibre centre caps. Good selection of finishes available.

I think they are an excellent company but you certainly pay a lot through them. Ellipsoids are a simple wheel to refurb as they are not split, no complex spokes. They were after something like £500 or £550 when I was quoted on 108's. By comparison I had all the stars on my 108's done in smoke chrome for about £140 at 1st class alloys, lichfield.

I've stupidly kerbed on recently and he's going to fix it for £30. Welder comes in and works overnight so it can be done that way and all I have to do is drive the 3 miles home on the skinny.
